Eyebrow waxing (12 yrs old.)?

Im 12 years old with pretty big eyebrows. lol

Im allowed to get them done but im a little scared.

Will it look weird if my eyebrows are perfect and shaped?

Im thinking of getting them done at the beginning of the summer.

Also, will it hurt real bad?

how often do i have to get them waxed?Eyebrow waxing (12 yrs old.)?
it wont hurt much

u can get it done once a month

//Eyebrow waxing (12 yrs old.)?
it won't look wierd, but in my experience all waxers over do them a bit, so for a few days they will look a bit scrawny. It wont hurt to bad, tears will come to your eyes, but it just stings, its not like crying, its involuntary. I got mine waxed once, and let them grow out to where I liked them and just pluck the stray ones as upkeep every few days.
just don't get them too skinny. i remember my first time LOL i went with my friends and like everyone in the salon was laughing. i was like screaming and laughing at the same time. It doesn't really hurt compared to other methods. Its quick easy pain. it really depends how fast ur eyebrows grow i get mine done 2 times a month. 1 through eyebrow threading for shaping (hurts like a motha so don't try it) and then a few weeks later i get them wax to clean and stuff.
same age and my friends do that

i pluck sometimes just to shape im blonde so they don't really show up

waxing would probably kill me hah

if its bad enough then i would wax if its just a little then tweeze

no it won't look weird i mean if you go to school monday and alacazam you have perfect eye brows ppl are gunna be like what the heck?? so i would deff do it over the weekend

you tend to be more sensitive while on your . so i would avoid that time of the month bc it would hurt alot more and don't stress about it thats gunna make it hurt more too

get them waxed only so often don't get a waxing right when your hair starts growing back in..pluck them untill you need them waxed again
it barely even hurts. i first got it done when i was 13 and i thought it would hurt but its only a pinch for like a second. and it makes u look prettier. trust me

u should get them waxed every few months or so

thats wat i do and it works. =]
it will hurt a little the first time but it will get easier

it will totally be worth it.

%26amp; it wont look weird it will look better

kids are mean and will make fun of bushy eyebrows.

so yeah, its worth it

:)
Don't be scared. I do it every week because my hair grows back fast. Usually, you will need to do it anywhere from every 3 days to every month. It all depends. It does not hurt either. People who say it does are the people who cry if they get pinched or get a paper cut. Don't worry, go ahead and do it. I recommend that you do it professionally unless you have someone you trust to help you. Happy waxing. =]
You will have to get them done about every 3-4 weeks depending on how fast your hair grows. It will hurt, but it's more of an uncomfortable hurt then anything and the pain goes away pretty fast. They will normally put t-tree or another soothing cream or gel on your brows afterwards to help with the redness and sensitivity. Brows define your face so I think you will look good. If you don't like the waxing, don't get it again until you are ready. It doesn't last forever.
itll look good if the right person does it.

it doesnt really hurt at all haha.

and just wax them whenever they start to get bad

just make sure that they arent too skinny and fake looking. thats very unattractive because they never grow back

hope that helped!
It hurts and takes sum of the skin off so id just pluck if i were u
girl when u wax ur eyebrows it hurts really bad it depends on ur control or stuff if u hav really hav thick e brows then it will hurt real bad but they stay lik dat 4 a month or so good luk
im scared tooo!

and im afraid i might look weirdd!
im 13. and i havent got mine done. dont.
You can ask them to do a modest shaping, it doesn't have to be a huge difference. It'll sting, yes, you can put ice on them afterwards if they bother you. It's not excruciating. You might get them waxed every few weeks, but you can pluck stray hairs as they come in.
i think it will look good. um, i have a friend who is alllowed to and wont(she is 15) and it really bothers me and most of my other friends cause we think she would be really pretty if she did. i wax mine and it is like a pain that lasts for like 5 mins...A LOT LESS THAN PLUCKING!!! just get the waxed once and if you don't like it, then don't do it again...
Well, I'm thirteen and have been getting my eyebrows done for quite a while now. The waxing part to me is not as bad as the plucking that professionals do after a waxing. Yes, it does hurt but not as much as people make it seem. There's a price to pay if you want to be pretty.

I get mine done about every 2 weeks but my hair grows exceptionally fast.
It hurts when its first done but the pain doesn't last long.

It won't look wierd at all it opens up ure eyes so just shows off ure eyes more, and looks natural, which is most imporant!

Get them done every few months and inbetween pluck any stray hairs using tweezers, never shave them!!!

Oh wow, ouch..... I never get my eyebrows waxed I thread them instead, I had them waxed once an it sucked, looks like I got away lightly just ending up with thin eyebrows at least I still had my skin
ouchhh!!!
Hi,

Well my advice to him would be, don't wax your eyebrows on a ladder. It never works!

~Mystic.
the guy fell off a ladder!

which world are you in,duffus?
Not sure whether you deliberately put on something not relating to the topic or whether you didn't actually read the article.

However, eyebrow waxing can be very useful for some people, a lot of my friends wax their eyebrows because it's easier for them to maintain the look they want.
Eyebrow waxing wouldn't do that to a person.
wtf?

we're not stupid.

he fell off a LADDER, you goddamn idiot.

it's just like a ******* piece of tape that removes hairs.

it's physically impossible for waxing your eyebrows to do that damage.

you think it's funny?

you're a dumbass.

stop looking for attention.
Thanks for the 2 points.
OMFG. good one, 褔ou've proper put me off m褔 lunch now :(

THATS BLOODY SICK. asif that was down to e褔ebrow waxing!!
I'm pretty sure it all doesn't end up like that. People usually wax their monobrows anyway, which is probably a usuful thing to do..
He fell of a ladder, also waxing makes i longer for the hair to grow back when i got it done it didn't grow until 5-6 weeks

also it is done professionally.
that doesnt happen.i do it all the time. hater much.
if you read the story with that picture, youll know that the guy fell off a ladder.

women wax their eyebrows so they can draw on their own
That isn't because he waxed his eye brows.

Eyebrow waxing tips..?

i get my eyebrows done at a nail place for 5 dollars..its cheap but i wanna know

1. in between waxing, how should i get rid of the hair other than plucking (too painful! lol)

2. how can i create a dramatic arch in my eyebrows like raven symone for example. my eybrows are really thin now and have a slight arch, im growing them out so they get thicker, but wat can i do for a better arch?Eyebrow waxing tips..?
hey !

1. Plucking's kinda your only way, but it's not so painful // at first it can hurt a bit because it'll irratate your skin because it's not used to it, but after about 2 weeks of plucking, it totally won't hurt!! :) [ besides, waxing hurts wayy more than plucking - if you can tolerate a wax, you can tolerate plucking! :) ]

2. i also like the high arch looks, but you can only do this if you have a lot of thick brows or a natural high arch because there's no way to shape em otherwise. since you have a slight arch you could try to work with it by growing your eyebrow hair infront of the arch so it's thicker and creates more of an allusion of an arched brow..

with more hair infront, it creates an illusion of a more arched brow.

you could also find an eyebrow pencil and pencil it, that way you can shape your brow in any way! make sure you use upward motion to help it look more natural and hair like.

i'd suggest getting your eyebrows proffessionally done.

hope i helped!!:)Eyebrow waxing tips..?
Okay...

1. Plucking is the best solution, but you can also get little eyebrow razors. I got a pack of 3 at Walgreens for about $3, I think they're Sally Hansen or Revlon, I'm not sure. Just look in the eyelash curler section of the beauty products, they're around there.

2. See how your natural arch is. I personally think Raven Symone's eyebrows are REALLY overdone- they sort of remind me of a clown's half-triangle eyebrows. I don't think you want an arch like that. Definately get them thicker- you don't want to look overdone. =]
get them done professionally. Trust me its hard to wax yourself, its messy and you can mess up not saying you will and youll always have to pluck to get small bits of hair out and waxing hurts for a little while. But it will make your eyes water

if you have never waxed your own eyebrows before, really, DONT DO IT.

go to a professional (inSpa isn't expensive and they do it great) they can wax your eyebrows for you and show %26amp; teach you how to do it yourself. it could be really helpful.

but dont try it by yourself if you dont know what youre doing, because your eyebrows are the main highlight of your whole face, and when you mess them up, its really, REALLY, noticeable

    hope this helped(: good luckk

***inSpa eyebrow waxing is typically $18***
Oh my gosh be careful! I use prewaxed strips on my brows so that there is 0 chance of it dripping and ripping off hairs I wanted to leave. (and you can get closer to the brows) Don't wax too close to your brows if you have hot wax. Its so easy to make a mistake and take off half your brow that way. Pluck close to the brow edge and use the wax to take off the loose ones farther away. Make sure you have some baby oil handy just incase you get wax on some hairs that you'd like to stay in place.
get it professionally done at a nail salon because its not messy and its very quick and the best thing is it is guaranteed to look great and last awhile

    Eyebrow waxing questions?

How much does it cost? Where can you get it done? How much does it hurt? How long does it take? And anything else I might need to know...Eyebrow waxing questions?
it costs probably $14ish, it doesn't hurt that bad, it will probably take less than 10 minutes, it lasts probably several weeks. You can keep it clean yourself.Eyebrow waxing questions?
It depends on where you go for the cost. It is $11 at the salon I work at, but I have seen it go up to over $20. You can get it done at almost any salon. To me, it really doesn't hurt too much. It actually kinda feels good! You just feel clean afterwords. The more you do it, the less it hurts. It depends on your tolerance for pain. It does require a little maintenance. It literally takes just minutes to do. Depending on if you tweeze new growth in between, it can last from 3 weeks to a month, also depending on much you get rid of, how fast your hair grows, and how often you want them cleaned up. Of course there will be a little redness and soreness afterwords, but that is very temporary. The waxer also puts tea tree oil or something else like that on right afterwords to help w/ the redness and slight soreness. After awhile, the hair stops growing. I used to get mine waxed every 4-6 weeks, when I got my hair colored. I haven't had them waxed in months; I just tweeze the little strays when necessary. Don't go to thin because it is ugly and unnatural and big, full brows are in! Just get them cleaned up and shaped a little, I forgot to mention that they do shape them how you want them and/or to suit your face shape. Get them done professionally at least once; it really makes a world of difference.
well it kinda stings at first but it doesnt really hurt after. and most nail or hair salons will do it, it only takes about 15 minutes, and usually somewhere around 20-35 dollars.
My hair stylist does mine as part of my appointment. It's 5 bucks and takes just about 5 minutes for both sides. The wax is nice and warm and then it feels like a bandaid being pulled off.
It is wonderful, costs about 10-20 bucks. I do my own. Just get it done, you will love it. It doesn't hurt but maybe for a second and its over! Go for it!
call a local beautician for prices. its kinda like ripping off a bandaid and the sting subsides pretty quickly and it only takes a few minutes.
    Hi

It does hurt abit but to be beautiful u need to endure a little pain.

It usually takes about 20mins if u have allot of hair.

I dont know where u live so i cant give you a price... but i do mine and it is cheap in my country. Also make sure that your beautician picks out the right pattern for the shape of your eyebrows.

    Goodluck
i get it done once a month--15$ you can get it done at almost any place you get your hair cut --try at the mall. it hurts for a couple seconds, but its well worth it.. only takes a couple mins to get it done, everytime you get it done it hurts less.
it costs different prices-depends where you go-most of the time beauty salons or spas do it-ill be honest, when they pull that cloth of it hurts like hell but only for like 10seconds...it takes maybe about 30mins if they do it right--to proportion them and all-better than tweezing!
Get them threaded instead. You'll love it and it's basically painless.....
    call local beautician

How to get rid of bumps from waxing eyebrows?

    WWMJD?

When I find that I have come up with a situation in my life, I ask myself ';What Would Michael Jackson Do or WWMJD?

In this instance, I think that Michael Jackson would get plastic surgery to make the bumps go away.

So, with my WWMJD logic, you should get plastic surgery to have the bumps removed.

    Thanks!

I am a day spa technician and recommend that the day after your wax, exfoliate. Biore or neutragena has a great product. The bumps are from the epidermis needing to be exfoliated, revealing new unoily skin.
I think that astrigents work the best. You want to get one for sensitive skin. Try Sea Breeze for Sensitive Skin and it should be gone in no time! In the mean time, just ice the bumps.
Ahh, I had that problem as well.

    Get your eyebrows threaded instead.

It's better and it lasts longer, about a month or so.
    Lotion with aloe

and stop waxing if you get those bumps girl!!!

    thread your eye brows instead

If you mean that your eyes turn red and stay that way after a waxing, putting ice cubes or a cream on them immediately after waxing, it should help with the discoloration.

    Eyebrow waxing? Does it hurt?

Well.... this will be my first eyebrow waxing. My sister says my eybrows are too bushy for a pretty girl and I think I need to get a wax too. Does it hurt? If so how long? Will it hurt bad enough I'll cry? lol jwEyebrow waxing? Does it hurt?
No; when i first got it done. i thought it was gonna hurt way more then it actually did. i mean for me when they pluck your eye brows hurts way more then the waxing part.

all it is; is a quick rip. i dont think you'll *cry* your eyes will probably water just because your not use to it.

just take a deep breath right before they rip it; you'll be fine. =)Eyebrow waxing? Does it hurt?
I would imagine threading hurts way more. I tried threading and it hurt like **** when the lady did it too slow. But the faster, the less painful. So I would guess waxing would be even less painful since it's just one quick blow. I tried a brazilian wax. If I can get used to that, you can get used to eyebrow waxing very easily. I am trying eyebrow waxing soon.
no it doesn't hurt, its fast, quick and easy! the only thing that may hurt is the hot wax, the very first time they put it on your forhead, but no it doesn't hurt, %26amp; I hate pain. to me, tweezing hurts worse!
I was so afraid to get my brows waxed, but it was all for nothing, i have like the worst pain tolerence, because i'm a baby lol, it stings for mabey 5-10 seconds, and you will be fine. plucking is WAY worse. :)
I find it feels like a bandaid being ripped off. It'll only hurt for a few seconds, you probably won't cry, but your eyes may water. I know mine did! But it's totally worth it after! =)
uhhh kid of.. maybe... yeah it does maybe pluck them and then wax them... i dont know thats what i did and it hurt a lil less when i waxed GOOD LUCK
it really depends on your pain tolerance. if you're new to it, make sure to take some advil before you go. it'll ease the pain :]
    lol noo

    it dosentt hurt

    i tried it once

    but now im used to

    plucking them.

its just like a litle pinch

    nothing big (:

but if u want less pain

    you should pluck them (:
nahh, when I first got mine down I thought it would be SOO painful, but it's really not that bad. It's just like a quick little yank on your skin!

put some cocoa butter or vitamin e on it...probably left the wax on too long and it burned so it could scar if you aren't careful...

also wash GENTLY, do not touch, do not scrub and dab with a cotton ball and hydrogen peroxide..

finally, tomorrow just lightly put concealer over the areas and then put on your eye makeup

    good luck
do not put aloe or cocoa butter on it. Use a cool compress every hour for 15-20 minutes on the hour. If you put a topical on it, it will hold the burn in. Hopefully it won't be so irritated tomorrow and you can put makeup on it. Good luck

I honestly would find a different place to get waxed next time. It sounds like they were to ruff
I have had this happen to me before. Just put a cold compress on it every 1/2 an hour and you should be fine.

NEVER PUT ANYTHING other than water on it!

jut relax and put some cool water on it and you will be fine.

Unless you mean you can't have thin straps.

So wear a shrug over them, or a cardigan. :)
i would wear a cute shrug or cardigan in a beige color that way it will blend in and won't draw attention to it
wear a cream colored cardigan with the first dress or a yellow cardigan.

and a blue cardigan for the second dress
well you could get a reaaly cute jaket to go with it and take it off untill you get yelled at then put it on and say you are hot
wear a tank underneath them or wear a cardigan
the second one's straps should be thick enough, but a shrug is best.
wear a sweater or put a t-shirt under it.

I buy these home waxing kits, the wax is already on the strips. You cut them in the shape you want and rub it in your hands. In this kit the give you give you cream it helps to sooth it. Eyebrow waxing problem :X?

Today I got my eyebrows waxed for the first time, and it didn't really hurt (surprisingly) during the actual process until the end when the waxer put what I'm assuming was some sort of astringent or alcohol on it. That burned like hell and I had two strips of red skin under my brows, and it continued to be that way for a few hours until it finally died down.

Just now when I (gently) washed my make up off, they started to burn again and now when I look at the two red strips under my eyebrows it looks shiny like there's a layer of skin that could have possibly been torn off during the waxing. Is there anything I can use to make it heal faster/stop burning so dang much? i.e. aloe?

    Thanks :)Eyebrow waxing problem :X?
    Ouch!!

    the wax was too hot!

The best thing you can do is use an antibiotic ointment and this will help the skin heal faster and keep infection away.

Aloe will help soothe the burn and so will the oil out of a vitiman E capsule.

    Good luck!

    and next time just pluck!

Be sure to nip those new growth every 2 days, and you will never have to wax again.

u will be tender and sensitive, treat it like a sunburn, and be kind to yourself.

I really feel for you, I've had this happen to me too!

good luck, and i know you will feel better in 3 days!

cool rag or cold water.dont put that stuff on there when you do that.use vasoline or something else.you will prb have a scab since it torn the skin off.
I went to a bad waxer once and the same thing happened. I'm not sure if she burnt me or pulled off some skin but my recommendation to you is to get a new waxer. That shouldn't happen.

If it is really bothering you maybe put some bacitracin (or neosporin) on it.
some kind of hydrocortisone ointment should lower the pain and help the skin heal.

keep from touching the area as much as possible.

Ice could also help with the pain and any swelling.
That's happend to me before. It could be because it was to hot, or because you had an allergic reaction. Mine scabbed up after about a week, and then it started to go away. I would go to the doctor and check it out. If you don't want to, I suggest you keep it clean.

  • Eyebrow waxing and pimples.?

why is there little red dots in beetween my eyebrows after i get them waxed? Even after the very first time i got them done, they wont go away. Most of them are flat small light red almost pink circles on the skin in bee tween my eyebrows, and only two or three of them have heads. Theyre really gross. What can i do to get rid of them? Eyebrow waxing and pimples.?
This happend because when you get your eyebrows waxed your pores are open after you get them waxed. What a salon is suppose to do id put senstive skin astringent on a cotton ball and rub on the previously recently waxed eyebrows. I know this because I go to salon in which they put astringent on after waxing me and I asked why and they told me because after getting waxed your pores are open and makeup and oil can get in and the astringent helps close pores. Next time ask ur salon to do this or if u do it yourself use clean and clear sensitive skin astringent. Eyebrow waxing and pimples.?
The people (at where I get my eyebrows done) always tell me that waxing isn't good for your eyebrows. You should ask them to thread it next time.

It's possible the wax doesn't suit your skin. Or maybe the creams that they apply on your eyebrows after they wax them could be unsuitable for your skin.
You have to be careful when going to shops to get waxing because sometimes they use the same waxing sticks for bikini areas and eyebrows
It could be a slight reaction from the after wax , or pre wax .

there just little pimples u get after u thread or wax ur skin

    i get them too

I need some confidence for eyebrow waxing. . .?

Ok, so I know that everyone says it only hurts for 2 seconds, but does it hurt more than plucking? I pluck a lot and I'm used to that. Any confidence that it doesn't hurt or how to prevent extra pain is wonderous!I need some confidence for eyebrow waxing. . .?
I have found that plucking not only hurts more, but the overall pain lasts longer since you're doing one hair at a time. I have thicker brows and when I try and pluck, it takes 10 minutes just to try and clean up strays on the underside of one brow, whereas going to get them waxed takes 10 minutes, maybe less.

For me my thing is that they typically will itch for about an hour after they are done, but I just have to remember to be careful and try not to touch them (my skin is very sensitive).I need some confidence for eyebrow waxing. . .?
Don't worry about it, it's so much less painful than plucking...and this is coming from the biggest wimp ever. Waxing is a lot easier because it takes it all off at once and then you're done. Just make sure you go to someone who will do a good job! Also if you have sensitive skin or if you're on Accutane, you shouldn't wax because it will really irritate your skin. You could try threading, which is a little painful but safe for sensitive skin.
Well if you pluck a lot, it shouldn't be as painful since you're used to it, it's really just the underpart of the brow that hurts the most but you get used to it like with plucking if it does hurt you. Just remember that it's a hell of a lot faster and easy process =)
i just got my eyebrows waxed this weekend lol. if you can pluck your eyebrows, you'll be totally fine. when they pull off the wax strip, it hurts a bit but yeah it only lasts for a few seconds lol. but after that it'll feel like it's swelling or something(at least for me) but if you put something cool on it it'll make it feel so much better. and you can also take an antihistamine(for allergies) 20 minutes before to reduce irritation.

    hope i helped=]
If you can handle plucking, you'll be fine. I can't stand plucking, and I always get my brows waxed. It's like ripping off a bandaid, it hurts less if you do it all at once. Plus they'll put pressure on the spot where they wax to make it hurt less and in some places they put on soothing cream or gel. Trust me, you'll be fine =]
Tell yourself that people will laugh at you unless you do it.
Waxing isn't very good for the skin. I recommend threading.
It only hurts when the hairs are ripped out, and it can be a little sore afterward. After waxing, I try not to touch the area because it's extra sensitive. When I get mine waxed, the girl who does it presses hard on the area she just ripped the paper from; the pressure helps to alleviate the pain. If you decide to get it done, ask the person performing it to do that. Also, for your first time, you might want to go some place a little pricier if you're nervous. I get mine done at Ulta where it's $18, which is actually a pretty good deal.

Ice! Scrape off as much as possible. Be careful on your hands though. I would just let that slowly wear off so as not to strip off the burned skin. Use antibiotic ointment on your hands and maybe wear some cotton gloves. The clothes----low temp iron and paper towels to absorb the wax and dishwashing liquid and toothbrush!
Try ice on the wax rather than heat to solidify it which will make it easier to scrape off.

Hey, any recommendations where to have a decent eyebrow trim/waxing? thanks!?

Waxing your eyebrows with an eyebrow ring?

i got my eyebrow peirced about 2 months ago, and i really need to get my eyebrows waxed, anyone know if it would be okay to take it out for the waxing and then put it back in or will it get infected? should i just leave it in and ask them to be careful??Waxing your eyebrows with an eyebrow ring?
Its best to take it out for waxing. I did with mine. I'd make sure that its healed enough first, if you think so then taking it out for a few minutes to get your eyebrows waxed should be fine. I really don't suggest leaving it in, if you are to get an infection it would be more likely to if you left it in. Do what you think is best. Make sure you clean the area afterwards to avoid an infection from the wax. And make sure all the wax is gone. Good luck! :)Waxing your eyebrows with an eyebrow ring?
personally i wouldn't reccommend getting them waxed untill its fully healed, just stick to plucking em
I got both my eyebrows pierced then waxed about 6 weeks later I took them out to get my eyebrows waxed I didn't have a problem

    Eyebrow waxing help please?

does it hurt having them waxed and shaped? ever since ive being 13 ive plucked my eyebrows but they need shaping really bad. im 15 and tempted to get them waxed at the local beauty salonEyebrow waxing help please?
i have gotten my eyebrows waxed at the salon and I have done them myself too, and trust me , it doesn't hurt!

(im 15 and ive tried tweezing, and i think it hurts more than waxing does!)

try it! :]Eyebrow waxing help please?
DO IT it does not hurt at all except when they pluck it after wards be careful though it could give you bumps from where it was waxed because our eyebrows aren't used to it yet but trust me you'll love how it looks after wards
Oh heavens, honey! Do it! I was afraid it was going to hurt too, but honestly, it's about as painful as pulling 1 stray hair out, but it takes ALL of them! Super easy, and super quick. I usually just go in and get mine shaped, and then I pluck to keep them looking tidy. But if I'm feeling lazy, I just go in and get them waxed again.

It's crazy, you never realize how much time and effort you use up sitting there plucking your brows until you go and have them waxed and you're in and out of the salon in 5 minutes.

    Good luck doll!
It does hurt the moment they pull it, but if they are a responsible, professional waxer, they would do ALL these things:

    1. measure your eyebrows before waxing so he/she will knows exactly where to remove the hair and to achieve the most natural shape for your face.

    2. apply a drop of oil or pre-wax oil to your eyebrows so the wax grabs on to the hair, NOT the skin.

    3. he/she should have a waxing form for you to sign detailing all the contraindications of waxing (ex.-sunburn, pustular acne, recent microderm, allergies, etc)

    4. use hard wax, NOT soft. hard wax ';shrink wraps'; around the hair and is used for sensitive areas, and does not require a strip to pull it off, which tends to be more for large areas(legs, etc)

    5. when they apply the wax, they should NEVER double dip the same applicator into the wax again!!! BIG NO NO. If they do, you will have wax on your face and the bacteria of many clients before you. YUCK.

    6. after they remove the wax, they should apply light pressure immediately to alleviate the pain. Pressure receptors read faster to the brain than pain :o)

    7. THEY SHOULD HAVE GLOVES ON, or at least sanitize their hands throughout the whole visit.

I might sound really picky, but its really scary if they do not do these things, it is for your safety and health!

    Good Luck!
    yah

you can visit this site it have many tips for skin care
It stings a little, but it's not unbearable. I get mine waxed all the time and I actually think plucking them hurts more because it takes longer. Waxing is quick, they all get pulled out at once. You get way better results with waxing also.

    Hope this helps.
Yeah it hurts a tad bit but not to the point where you will scream out in pain or anything like that. The waxer will show to you the area they wax eyebrows in you will either be laying down or sitting in a chair. She will apply the hot wax to your brows most of the time they blow on it first to cool it down if its too hot please tell her, after all this is your face and your money. Then after she applies the wax to one brow she will get the strip and place it on your brow mash it down and then after maybe 3 seconds she will snatch it off. Now this will be quick and it might hurt a little, I've had my brows waxed millions of times and each times my eyes water a bit, its just a reaction though, you really don't notice the pain and it only lasts like a milli sec. Then she will do the same thing with the other brow and then she will wax in between your brows.then if your brows still need shaping she will apply either alcohol or baby oil to the brows and pluck the stray hairs away. The entire process takes about 7 minutes unless you have really really thick eyebrows, and in the end it will look better than it ever did. Trust me.

  • Eyebrow waxing vs ';threading';?

I have been getting my eyebrows waxed every 2-3 weeks for about 6 years. The wax doesn't hurt, its the plucking that hurts, and I've noticed some parts of the eyebrow aren't growing back.

What are the benefits of threading vs waxing? Does it hurt? How often do I have to do it?Eyebrow waxing vs ';threading';?
theading doesn't hurt and it looks awesomeEyebrow waxing vs ';threading';?
take a look at the link it has lots of info on eyebrow threading
i have friends who have ther eyebrows threaded - apparently it hurts less an lasts longer. Also waxing, over time, may create more wrinkles when you are older. However, the only reason I stay with my eyebrow waxer is cause I like the shape she creates - thast something to think about - no point in getting your eyebrows done if you dont like thier shape after
Threading when done right doesn't hurt and leaves the skin less irritated than waxing. The hair over time will get finer. You can learn to do threading yourself or find a threader near you. If you choose to thread yourself, use cotton thread and go slowly.
Go to an experienced threader. It takes many years to perfect this technique. They learn how to discern which is the best eyebrow shape for each face. A really good threader can target a specific hair and pull it out each time. Rows of hair can be taken out at once.

There's nearly no swelling or redness after wards, meaning that it isn't an aggressive treatment on the soft skin around the eyes. It really isn't painful at all, although it is fast. Normally you'll need to get it reshaped once a month. During the month you just do upkeep at home by tweezing the stray hair.

After you've had your eyebrows threaded, visit www.hairremoval4guys.com/best-hair-remov鈥?and write about your threading experience in detail. Take before and after pictures. Your story and one photograph will be placed as a permanent page on the site, with its own URL. Other visitors can add their own comments to your story and rate it out of five.

I would love to read about your story.

    Eyebrow waxing help?

i waxed my eyebrows now i have hard wax stuck around them - how do i get it off?Eyebrow waxing help?
If the wax is water based, just regular soap and water, if the wax is oil based, use a cotton ball and baby oil or even regular cooking oil, it will dissolve it right away.Eyebrow waxing help?
If you used nair wax, they come with cloths that are oily so it will remove the extra wax. But if you don't have that, then baby oil or rubbing alchohol will work. And with certain wax, soap and warm water, or just plain warm water can work too. Next time, when the waxing is finished try and take the wax off faster so that it won't get to that hard point.
Oil is the best way to get rid of it. Use baby oil, if you don't have any use a kitchen oil.

Just wash the place with soap and water after you're done.

    Eyebrow waxing and prego?

can you get your eyebrows waxed while your pregnant??Eyebrow waxing and prego?
    Yes its totally fine..

However when you are pregnant the way you react to different beauty treatments may change...like your hair colour might not take, your manicure won't work cuz of brittle nails or your skin may breakout in a rash. So stay with natural and soothing treatments. Make sure you use an after wax balm to sooth the area.

    :)Eyebrow waxing and prego?
You can basically get anything waxed while you are pregnant: Bikini, eyebrows, legs, arms, etc
Considering that your body Won't absorb anything from the hair removal wax I can't think of any reason why you couldn't Wax your eyebrows no matter how pregnant you are.......
yes, you can. but you may find your skin is more sensetive.
    Haha...Yes!
    Of course you can!
    Yes.
    Yep..

Eyebrow waxing question PLEASE HELP PLEASEEEE!?

Ok so im going to get my eyebrows waxed for the very first time this saturday.

But my question is.. If i wax them,do i have to wax them every month?

Or can i just pluck the hairs that are growing out??

im new to dis so donttt b mean lol.

btw im 13 wit very bushy eyebrows!!!Eyebrow waxing question PLEASE HELP PLEASEEEE!?
After they wax them, you just have to maintain the shape and pluck the little stray hairs. Be careful not to over-pluck, if you do, then you'll need to fill your brows with brow powder or a brow pencil. Also, you'll need to grow them back out again. If you do happen to over-pluck, when you are growing them back out, DO NOT PLUCK for at least a month. It will look messy, but just wait until they grow back fully again so you can get them shaped again then you can just maintain them. Young teens do tend to over-pluck, so that's why I'm giving you these tips.Eyebrow waxing question PLEASE HELP PLEASEEEE!?
Ah, the first time I got my eyebrows waxed I had all these questions too! Okay, usually when you are younger your hair grows very fast! Especially facial hair, so I'd say go every 5 weeks to get them waxed. And when the hair grows out just pluck it. Or thread it! But make sure to pluck around the natural line of your eyebrows. Also, make sure you go to a professional. Do NOT go to nail salons! It will hurt! Definitely go to a nice place with a lady who specializes in eyebrows! Someone who knows what they are doing.

I'm 13 too, and I have been waxing since January. It is so nice to get neat eyebrows! i wish you the best of luck for your first time!

    :)
You can go to get your brows done, and I would not go to the mall to do it.Go to a top salon in your area that know how to thin out your brow line as well as make the shape look great for the look you want. When they do start to grow out you will be able to see the line of the style that they made and be able to trim the thin hairs that grow in, however when you see them getting bushy again you will need to go back. This is upon your own discretion, which means when you wish if you didn't know.Wish you luck
Your going to love it. They thread the little hairs around them also.

You don't have to keep waxing them every month. I let mines grew out then I went to get a nice shape and since then I just pluck them and check them like every other day. You will be fine don't worry about it. Good luck!!!!!!! [=
You can just pluck if you want. I personally hate tweezing so I prefer to get them waxed if I can.

The more you do it the more you'll get used to it, too.
majority of the time people pluck instead of going for a waxed every month. it a lot of money. plucking and getting it waxed gives u the same result.
I think it would be better for you to just go to the nail art place to get them waxed whenever you think they've grown

    Eyebrow waxing!?! (how badly) ?

How bad does it hurt?Eyebrow waxing!?! (how badly) ?
It hurts! It makes my eyes water every time. But the sting goes away almost immediately IF she does it right. If she doesn't...it hurts for longer. And don't let her tweeze you to death afterward. Some of them get carried away and just keep going till there's almost nothing left, and that doesn't look natural. Tell her you just want it ';cleaned up';.

Costs about $5-15 to get it professionally done at a nail or hair salon, lasts about 3.5 weeks.Eyebrow waxing!?! (how badly) ?
Have you ever tweezed your eyebrows? If so then you would like waxing, you get the benifts of tweezing and it hurts alot less. A good waxer will wax your eyebrows and it will take 2 minutes and really not hurt at all. Plus waxing lasts alot longer than tweezing!
Ha, this question made me remember that I need to get mine done again. I'm 14 and first got my eyebrows waxed when I was 13. I flinched the first time because I didn't know what to expect. It didn't really hurt that bad, then again I can take a lot of pain, lol. I guess just because it my first time getting my eyebrows waxed they were sensitive for a couple hours. Time after time it doesn't hurt as bad, my eyes just water a little. Just make sure that you know what the place it using because I know I have sensitive skin and Supercuts (where I get mine waxed) uses good products. It's not that expensive to get you eyebrows done either. And it's a lot better than tweezing.
It depends on the level of pain you can tae. Don't apply the wax too hot or too cool. The wax when ready should have an Opec or matte look while still hot - then applied.

**Note: Be very careful: If wax gets on a few hairs you don't want to eliminate -it will take those hairs and you can't go back. Have a professional do it first so you can see how it works and what hairs to take. For some reason when eye brows are remoed- they don;t grow back the same. You can screw up naturally beautiful eye brows and then start drawing them i nlike an old lady. Really, the drawn in look is a must for some -some women just haven't been born and blessed with nice brows. But if you have good ones- they can get easily damaged by a compulsive need to ';clean them up';.

Try using tweezers first, if you are attempted this at home alone. The way I do it and on others (like my husband-I only do a few) is I take the hair at the lower part of it by the skin _ I don;t take the hair by the tweezer from like the top of it and pull- taht hurst and makes yours eyes water. Grab it low and pull low and fast keeping the tweezer close to the skin- not touching the skin ofcourse but low- it doesn't hurt this way surprizingly.

One other mention the arch of the eyebrow should be directly above the pupil of the eye. Take a pencil and line it up by holding the pencil in front of one eyeand directly above it or as close as possible should be the top of the arch of the brow.

Eye brows can be a funny thing- the way they are shaped can determine your expression. If you take too much from in between your eyes- you'll have a weird sad look- again doing a little at a time is the way to go and have a pro do it. Even pros have a good way of F555king it up (oops, did I say that?)

Sorry this is long but I have had experience with thi and regret ever toughing my brows. I remove the end of them and after a perid of time they didn't grow back. I clor the ends lightly with a med. brown and no one can tell. But the fact of the matter -it's not the same any more.

Another thing: DO NOT let anyone do permananet makeup on them (like tattooing) I did that on the ends and they friggin' turned orange.

So my proces is cover the orange and fill in with the brown.

I had a med spa tell me they could laser the orange off- spoke to another pro about it and they told me the laser could have removed all my eyebrows and could have turned the skin area white.

Please be careful: everyone loves Whoopi Goldberg but we don't want her no eye brow look. Do you?

    : ) My best
The first time will hurt more than other times, msotly cuz you're expecting it to hurt. It stings, but it's quick and much like pulling off a bandaid. Not too bad, way worth it. Thinking about it, plucking hurts too, but with that you feel an individual pain for every hair. Waxing takes several hairs at once so its over quickly.
It hurts a little, but it's so much better than plucking out the individual hairs. Whenever I get waxed I always say ';um!'; whenever they pull the strip off. But it only takes 5 minutes and lasts a long time, so it's worth it.

The part that's hard to take is the rest of the day, when your eyebrows are tender and a little itchy. Don't scratch.
if the person does it right and you aren't alergic to the wax, then it should just hurt a little. on a scale of 1-10 probably a 3 or a 2. also depending on your pain tollerance.
Not bad at all! If you go an experienced pro, they will use different techniques (cooling gels, pressure on the area immediately after pulling the wax off) that will make it close to painless.
It's quick and almost painless. To get it professionally done it costs about $10, and it looks beautiful and smells great!
Not very bad. When they put it on it's warm and relaxing, and they pull it off so fast it's like plucking 1 hair...so in a way it hurts less.
I have fairly manly eyebrows, lol and I would suggest waxing instead of plucking. The only time it hurt was when I has slight acne around where they were waxing. It's over soon and the end result is worth it!
It's really not that bad. And I can't stand pain. Like at all.

It's quick, and the only after effects is sensitivity for like 5 hours.
It doesn't hurt that bad it's a little uncomfortable but it's worth it!!
    haha don't worry...it doesn't hurt
    beauty is pain!!!!!

but really, if woman do it all the time than it is bearable
It doesnt hurt that bad.. and im a whimp! Just dont tense up your face and you will be fine! :)
I dont really need mine doing but i want to get them done some day.
It makes my eyes tear up, which I find kinda funny, but it doesn't hurt all that bad:)
Never done it! Seems like it hurts bad though!
    doesnt hurt at all

threading --hurts the first time, then it'll never hurt again
Really not that bad at all. It's super fast! You should do it!
its not that bad, and its worth it.

it hurts for like a second
    I thurts like a bandaid. Don't worry.

whats the best eyebrow waxing strips, where can i get them, and approximately how much do they cost??Eyebrow waxing strips?
Eyebrow waxing is a scary thing to try on your own. You could end up with crooked, or worse, no eyebrows (I had a very brave friend who tried it on herself and messed it up...badly...)

Instead of doing it yourself, I suggest getting it professionally done, so they can show you a good shape for your face. Generally, it'll cost between $8 and $15. Make sure you have someone with a lot of experience do it.

After you have a good shape, I just pluck the stray hairs that grow back on my own. After a few months, I go back for another waxing to make sure the shape stays right.Eyebrow waxing strips?
It matters where you go, if you go to the beauty supply store you can find them for as cheap as $2.99 to $50.00 for wax and strips, but here is a website to help you wax or fix mistakes with the eye brows.

    Eyebrow waxing/plucking?

im 16 and my eyebrows look really bad they have no shape. i pluck to confine them but they just look horrible. if i get them waxed once does that mean i have to continue to get them waxed? or can i get them waxed just once to get the shape and then pluck? HELP please!!!Eyebrow waxing/plucking?
yeah you can get them waxed once to get the shape and then pluck them. but then when you pluck, you have to keep up with it so you don't lose the shape. and also when you get them waxed, go with your mom and make sure you are clear with the lady on the shape you want because you don't want them to wax of too much. good luck :)Eyebrow waxing/plucking?
of course not, thats what i did. i had to grow out my eyebrows to get them waxed, she gave them a great shape..so now i just pluck them to keep the shape. but keep up with the plucking or your shape can change when it grows back. And never over pluck and try not to use a magnify mirror, it can make it worse. so I recommend you have a professional do your eyebrows first to set a 'blueprint', then all you have to do is pluck where the hairs grow in.
You can just get them waxed for the shape and than clean them up in between by plucking, personally I get my eyebrows threaded. But eventually you have to be careful not to pluck so much you loose the shape... GOOD LUCK!!
you can get them waxed once so they can help then you continue to pluck. But maybe let them grow in alittle so they have more to work with..
Go for threading ..the easier way to solve your problem ...

    Eyebrow waxing gone wrong?

the wax ran down my eybrow, the lady didnt realize it and now i have a hairless spot on my eyebrow. i cant use pencil because i have blonde eyebrows. Tomorrow is picture day- WHAT DO I DO

?? the lady dosent know what to do either!!!!!!!!!Eyebrow waxing gone wrong?
the wax doesnt remove the hair, the wax STRIP does, so even if the wax did run down your eyebrow, she still had to wax that hair off with the strip so its entirely her fault, you should get your money back.

Second, there are blonde eyebrow pencils i believe. They might be hard to find though. Go to a department store make up counter, they might be able to help you.

If not, you're just going to have to live with it until it grows back. :SEyebrow waxing gone wrong?
There are definitely blond eyebrow pencils! Since it's completely bare, I would use the pencil to ';draw in'; wispy hairs on the bare spot and then use a SLIGHTLY darker powder eyeshadow over that spot to set it and also over your whole brows to blend in. Also, use foundation or eye primer before you start to help it stay all day.

Good luck, hon. You should be fine for your picture.
Even if you have blonde or very light eyebrows using a light brown eyebrow liner should do just fine but lightly rub it on till you get the desired look and color you need, the color will open up your eyes just enough to help them look naturel and not menacing.Anyone can use pencil it's all in the color and application, but go with a light brown and then fill in the gaps with a firm eye brow brush to spread it through and get the shape you need.My mom was an expert makeup artist and estheticin and I learned alot it should work just practice a couple of times till you get what your looking for. Good luck and hope this helps.
hey if you have light brown eye shadow just brush some on both of your eyebrows to make them even. on the hairless spot put a little more.. good luck!!
They have a blonde eyebrow pencils, because i have em.

    Try using some eyeshadow too!

Oki well I want to get my eyebrows waxed at some place cuz I did it myself and it turned out Ok but i am going to grow them back out and get it done professionally, but i was wondering what i have to say? other then asking to get them waxed, do i have to tell them anything on how i want it shaped or do i kind of just let them have a go at it?Eyebrow waxing questionnn?

If you are going for a specific shape or style, they may have a board or binder that has a bunch of different eyebrow shapes and what not and you can pick one from there.Eyebrow waxing questionnn?
Just tell them to wax the stray hairs; and not to change your natural eyebrow shape.

    Eyebrow waxing help....!!!?

Ok, so instead of going to an expensive salon to get my eyebrows waxed, my mom does 'em 4 me, i'm only 15. I just wish they would arch a little bit more, but i need to go and wax them, where should i put the wax to make them arch?

ps. my mom gets pissed at me when i ask 4 something different with my eyebrows....so i figure i can just do it myself.Eyebrow waxing help....!!!?
eyebrows are a tricky job to begin with. DO NOT wax above your brow! only wax until you have the general shape you want, other wise, use tweezers.

To check if your eyebrow shape is right for your eyes and face, take an eyebrow pencil and rest it against the right side of your nose ( against your nostril) and touch the other end of the pencil to the inside of your right eyebrow, it should line up with your inner eye corner. If not, either pluck till it does or let it grow back and try again another time.

With the pencil against your nose still move it to the area where you are putting your arch, it should line up with your pupil, in the center of your eye when you are looking straight. Repeat advice above, if it didn't.

Again with the pencil still against your nose, line it up with the outside edge of your eyebrow, it should line up with your outer eye corner. Again, if it doesn't line up, do the thing with the plucking or the growing.

Now repeat with the other side of your face!!

It's really cool and it works when getting your eyebrow shape right for you face. . . good luck!! : )Eyebrow waxing help....!!!?

Never ever wax when you want an arch for

an eyebrow shape. Always use tweezers

because if by accident you overdo it with

the wax, you could be loosing most of your

eyebrow! I would search the internet for

some tips on how to shape your eyebrow

so that you can do it correctly and make it

look nice. Or you can hold up a pencil to your

eyebrow and the tip of the pencil should touch

your nose and wherever the top part of the

pencil is that is where the arch should be.

    Hope this helps!
Never, ever wax above the brow when trying to shape the brow. Follow the shape of the natural brow line. Most people have a natural arch, it's just a matter of removing the hear below it. Without seeing your face, I can't tell you exactly where to wax. An arch is usually asymmetric. Moving upward a little beyond the center of the brow and then moving downward slightly. You'll also want to make sure and keep your brows thicker toward the center of your face and thinning out as they move outward.I do agree that you're flirting with disaster in attempting this yourself for the first time. Waxing your own brows is a tricky thing, even for an experienced esthitician. I would reconsider discussing this with your mother. If you are determined to do this, I would also advise to have something handy to fill in your brows in the event of a mishap. I would recommend a soft brown shadow, similar in color to your brows, and an angled make-up brush.
i had the same problem i wanted a arch so i wax the eyebrow them i pluck in a arch with tweesers it works alot better trust me good luck
Why dont you go to a nail place, they do a very good job for 5-10 dollars.
you can get those stencil things at the drugstore. but please please PLEASE be careful with your eyebrows...sometimes the hair doesn't grow back [i learned the hard way]
Dont do it yourself! I have a home waxing kit thing to and my mom does my brows .. One night i decided i didnt want to wait for her to do it and i took off half my brow. BAD EXPERIENCE.

  • Eyebrow Threading Vs. Eyebrow Waxing?

I've been considering getting my eyebrows done for a little bit of time now. I was fixed on getting them waxed, but the other day i walked by a threading store at the mall. I know they both can shape brows.

I heard that you have to sit very still for threading, because if you move you can get cut. Is that true? and does it hurt? How much does eyebrow threading cost? and how long does it take? Do you recommend waxing, or threading?

    Thanks for helping me out!!!

    xox--jc.Eyebrow Threading Vs. Eyebrow Waxing?
A lot of my Indian friends get their eyebrows threaded and they have beaauuutiful eyebrows. So its a good option. Plus I've seen how they do it and they do it with THREAD so you can't really get cut lol, at worst it will just pinch you a little.Eyebrow Threading Vs. Eyebrow Waxing?
I recommend threading all the way the hair will grow firmer plus it will take a very long time to grow back u gonna like it a lot. It does hurt but does waxing the price is the same unless u go to the mall which it will cost u more u could go on line n check around ur area who does threading n check prices. Yeah they could cut u but just do what they tell u n u should be fine. U should try it n let me know go how it went.

    Good luck
Where I've seen threading, it was at the mall at one of those carts. It was more than double of what I pay to get my brows waxed. I had a friend who got it done and her eyebrows came back looking like they were shave. EWWW
    Waxing....
Yes, threading hurts. No, you have to move a LOT to actually get cut. I've been getting my eyebrows threaded for 2 years, and I have never gotten cut.

It hurts just the same as waxing.

Eyebrow threading costs the same as waxing. About $8-$10.

I recommend threading, because if you wax when you're young, that will really get your skin all saggy, and you're gonna get wrinkles when you're really young, like at 30.
I would recommend waxing....i have never threaded mine but i have waxed them and it doesn't hurt all that bad.. just bring more eye make up if you are going somewhere after wards.
    eyebrow waxing...eyebrows threading seems scary.
thread is better. you can also ask them to thread facial hair, works wonders
threading can last longer..and might be better..but can be painful after wards and cause itching, but so can waxing..it's cheaper than waxing..it's all really up to you either way it'll hurt but also either way they get rid of hair for lot longer then plucking
you do need to sit as still as possible and I think that it hurts more than waxing does. the positives are that it is a little cheaper most of the time and I think that it looks better, you get a much cleaner shape and it lasts longer. I would recommend threading, but you need to understand that it DOES hurt. it takes about the same as waxing, 10-15 minutes.
    waxing
I have no idea what threading is...? so if any1 can help me out there. But, personally, i tweeze/ pluck mine with tweezers. Its easy to do, you can do it yourself and its really quick. And, it doesnt leave your eyes red like waxing does.
threading is better but it hurtas kinda worse than waxing

What hurts more: eyebrow or upper lip waxing?

Well, I dont think that eyebrow waxing hurts that much. It hurts for a few seconds, but then they put aloe on it, and it feels fine. Lip waxing on the other hand KILLS!What hurts more: eyebrow or upper lip waxing?
I've never had lip waxing before, but having your eyebrows waxed doesn't hurt much at all. For me, I'd say 6 since sometimes the people that do your eyebrows use more glue. It just depends, sometimes it can be better than others. My first time I thought it hurt though since my skin wasn't used to it obviously and you get the whole red patches around your eyebrows afterwards. But, I recommend waxing eyebrows instead of tweezing and threading.
I would say that eyebrow waxing would be a 3. I'm used to getting mine waxed, so it's not really a problem for me. It still stings a bit, though.

Upper lip waxing is definitely a lot more painful, at least in my opinion. I only had it done once, and it seems like the skin there is a lot more sensitive. I'd have to go with an 8 for that.

    Help On eyebrow waxing?

Okay so I got my eyebrows waxed today, and it left an outline (as always) Like where they waxed left it lighter than my original skin color. And its kind of noticeable. Is there anything I can do to make it go away?Help On eyebrow waxing?

nopee sadly..haha when i first use to do tht i use to have a big circle between my eyebrows :P thank god forr bangs right? :D

but anyways its normal forr it to do tht causee the little hairs tht were waxed use to cover the spot so it wouldn't get a tan..if u keep waxing it, it eventually goes away..cause u get tanned there., anyways sorry for leaving suchh a long comment..hopee i helpedd thoughh byee :D
Having that line that actually makes your eyebrows more noticable , which is a good thing , or they have a eyebrow pencil with a highlighter on the other side its a great look.
clean the area with alcohol and then wipe your face with a cool washcloth.the alcohol will help remove any excess was and the coolness from the washcloth will help with any redness or irritation you may have
I just get the shavers for that. They have special shavers...
I've had this happen and what worked for me was not wearing sunglasses out for a day. When there's no sun out however, I just dab a little pale eye shadow (beige or some flesh tone) and just add just enough to hide the lighter skin area.

    What About Eyebrow Waxing!?

I'm getting my eyebrows waxed for the first time! Does it hurt, Is there anything I can do to make it hurt less? What About Eyebrow Waxing!?
i've been waxing my eyebrows for like a year and it does hurt to be honest! lol. well not on the top of yerr eyebrows just on the bottom..ouch. ha. but ummm usually they put this like gel stuff on it to make it not hurt so much at the end but if they don't just put something cold on yer eyebrows!!! i still do that! and it helps me :))

    What About Eyebrow Waxing!?
It does hurt, but only for a second. Just as quickly as getting your ears pierced, or one of those quick shots, much lestt painful! don't worry, it only feels like a tingle after. You can put an ice pack on it when you get home, but it'll probably be fine by then. good lucK!
Don't worry; it's not that bad! It hurts a little bit, but it's very quick. It feels like a Band-Aid being ripped off. They usually have to do it a couple of times to get all the hair off. Afterwards, they will probably put some cream on it to soothe the skin. Good Luck!
it does hurt the first time.

but as you keep getting it done the hair grows back less, so it hurts less. it's nothing bad. it may make your eyes water, but its quick.
Well my friend gets her eyebrows waxed and she says it doenst hurt that much. Its just a quick sting, sorta like a pinch.

Try putting an icepack on it afterwards if it hurts. (:
it doesnt hurt, they just rip it off and it stings for a few seconds and then they turn red for a bit but then they are just finee!
take 2 aspirin an hour before

    and its just a sting

then after put baby oil on it to reduce redness
It's no big deal! I've been getting mine does since I was 14 (I'm 25 now!) It's just like a bandaid being ripped off!
take a few asprin an hour before you go. It will help
    it's just a small sting

  • Reaction to eyebrow waxing!?

I got my eyebrows waxed on friday for the second time. They were red as normal but then I woke up on Sunday it was all red and bumpy! The only thing I can think of that they did different was they put lotion on it after.

my skin was also swollen above my right eyebrow it felt like a hard bump, but it went away.

Now it's just red with little bumps all over. How long before it goes away? Is there anything I can do to treat it?

I start school tomorrow!Reaction to eyebrow waxing!?
Little bumps after waxing is pretty normal. if they put on lotion after waxing it should decrease the amount of redness and bumps but I guess it was different for you. I think you should try threading (that's what I always do) it doesn't leave bumps but then again your skin could be really sensitive. I still say threading's better.Reaction to eyebrow waxing!?
it could be several things. There wax may have been old and contaminated. You need to always always ask before you get the wax put on when they last changed it! You would be surprised how many places don't change it very oftern. it could also be a reaction to any oils or lotions they put on afterward. They should have wiped you down with an astringent and put some light cream or oil on it. All you can do is keep putting a gentle astringent on it and keep it moisturized. you'll just have to let it pass. If it is too bad though i would go back to where you got it waxed and show them. Maybe you can get your money back!
next time tell them to put no lotion on afterwards, wipe alcohol or seabreeze to keep down irritations.theres nothing that can be done except let it go away on its on.
You may have had an allergic reaction
they might have ripped some of your skin well thats what happen to me and i had those red markings for about 3 days

OUCH! help Eyebrow waxing! 10 POINTS!?

When ever i get my eyebrows waxed they get really red for almost 3 days. Im fair and have sensitive skin. I tried putting ice on them, but is there anything else i can do to bring down the swelling and redness? Any help i would be so thankful for!OUCH! help Eyebrow waxing! 10 POINTS!?
maybe it is the person you are going to, to get your eyebrows done. this perosn may be not as good as you can get. try going to a different person,

also maybe you could try numbing under your eyebrows with ice before getting them waxed?

or u could put ice on them then dry them and put moistorizer??

or you could cover them up with makeup(eyeshadow)

if none of this works , maybe you could try getting them waxed on a friday, then by monday they wont be red, so you dont have to have red eyebrows at school.

    or one more suggestion,

    maybe try plucking your eyebrows

i pluck and once you get used to it, it doesnt hurt as much, and the redness goes away after one night, or even a couple of hours.

    good luck!!

hope i helped you out :)OUCH! help Eyebrow waxing! 10 POINTS!?
this sort of reaction isn't normal. who's doing the waxing? is anybody with you to ensure it's done correctly? try a different ';wax'; you may be reacting to it.
Try a little bit of lavender, it has anti-inflammatory properties.
change the person ur going to. and put some lotion if redness still occurs...but i recommend to stop waxin for a while then attempt it again se what happens
then use the regular metal tweezers

    First-time eyebrow waxing risks?

I'm getting my eyebrows waxed tomorrow, anything i shuold ask them to do or look for? or do afterwards? also what's the risk my moms a little worried(im 14)that it will never grow back.First-time eyebrow waxing risks?
Well tell them to start you would like a clean up and to keep the shape very natural. You can always take more off, but you can't put it back on!First-time eyebrow waxing risks?
Waxing is fine! A good stylist/beautician will be able to suggest a style which would work best for your facial structure. Your mother may have over-plucked hers in the past (or had a friend/acquaintance over-pluck theirs) to the point where the follicles were deadened and would not regrow...similar to the effects of IPL or electrolysis.

I just had mine waxed 2 days ago!

Only 'risk' is that if you don't like how they turn out, you have to wait a while for the hair to grow back. It is easier, for the first time, to ask your stylist what they would recommend. Let them know your concerns and tell them it is your first time.
well if you have sensitive skin you might get little bumps from irritation, but other than the initial (slight) swelling and redness there's nothing to worry about. and it will grow back.

make sure they don't take off too much though, unless you want that look

    Uhh, eyebrow waxing question?

Lol, im really know squat about things like this... But when they wax your eyebrows... Do they take off all the hair? How does it work? What if they accedentily take off all your eyebrows? And what is better, plucking or waxing, and why?Uhh, eyebrow waxing question?
When you get your eyebrows waxed, they don't take off all of your hair. They will shape it of what your face looks like. They go with what ';you'; look like. This is how it works: When you go in there they take the hott wax and put it on your eyebrow. They wont take off your whole eyebrow. They are professionals! They shouldn't do that..I get mine waxed about once a month if not then twice every two months. I think that after you get them waxed pluck everyday where she waxed so the hair doesnt grow back. Remember, they are professionals they know exactly what to do.Uhh, eyebrow waxing question?
my mom is an esthetician (aka waxer)

she in-depthly looks at the eyebrows and determines what hairs need to go and which ones need to stay

they shouldn't take hardly anything off the top of them (unless you want them ridiculously thin), just wax underneath the eyebrow over your eyelid and in between the 2 eyebrows

theres no way they could take off the whole eyebrow because they only put wax in the locations that need hair removal

but please beware because there are a ton of places out there that don't know what they are doing! and will make you regret getting it done

once it gets waxed it doesnt grow back for a while, but it is something that needs to be kept up with, so dont start unless you plan on continuing

plucking is not good for your eyebrows, or any hair on your body

it leaves a hole where the hair used to be and they end up growing back thicker.

good luck and be careful in choosing your esthetician!

(make sure they are a liscensed esthetician!!)
They put hot wax only on the bottom of your eyebrows, never on the top, just put a strip of paper on top, and pull.

Plucking and waxing both remove the roots of the hairs, so they essentially last for the same amount of time.

The people who wax eyebrows never ever let any of the wax into the wanted eyebrow hairs...don't worry. You have way more of a chance of going crazy with the tweezers and tweezing your eyes out than they do of removing your eyebrow.
When you get your eyebrows waxed, they put a little on just where the hair needs to come off to leave you with really nice, clean looking brows. Then, they pluck the little hairs that they can't get to because waxing in and of itself is too broad and would take off too much hair.

OR-you can get your eyebrows threaded...WAY CHEAPER. If you live in a big city, you'll probably be able to find an Indian (like people from India) beauty shop. They'll thread them there. It's a process which is the same as plucking except they used twisted thread to do it and it plucks out more at one time than a pair of tweezers can do.

Then there's plucking, which you can do yourself if you know what you want your results to be.

All three hurt a little, but the pain lessens quickly.

My suggestion...ask around for a good place to get them waxed. Don't pay more than $10! Get them waxed if it's your first time. Try the other methods as you get more experience and visit different salons. If you want to maintain your brows, you'll probably need a new wax every 2-3 weeks.

    Happy waxing!
I once worked with a woman who had gone to a salon to have services done one of them was waxing. The girl/women doing the work on her took the whole thing off!!!! It was quite funny only because I didn't like the her. Just make sure that the person who is going to do the job on you is taking the situation seriously not gossoping or laughing or acting spacy.

Waxing works really well I tend do waxing when I am going out on a special occasion at least 1 1/2 wks prior.

The site below has great products to helpl you do it on your own by plucking of you can take a stencil to the person doing the work on you, to make sure you get a good result.
No they only take off certain parts so they can shape your eyebrow. They warm up the wax, then they spread the was on your eyebrow with a little stick, then they put strips on the your eyebrow and rip off the hair. They will not accidentally take off all of your eyebrow unless they don't know what they are doing, they only do certain parts at a time. Then they will pluck some of the little hairs off because it's too short to wax off. Waxing is better because it lasts longer. You will get use to it. At 1st it will sting for a while then it will be over.

    Good luck
If you dont know much then go to a beautician and have them shaped the first time, if you can maintain them yourself with plucking then do so... if not keep getting them done professionaly! Eyebrows are one of the most important feature of your face so if your not sure.. dont do it!!!

They will only remove a bit of hair to define the shape of the arch in your natural eyebrow to start with! If they wax your whole eyebrow off I would Sue them.. its hard to make a mistake like that if you know what your doing!

Waxing and plucking is basically the same! both take the hair from the root one just does more at one time! I get mine waxed professionally every now and then and just maintain them by plucking out stray regrowth every few days! =)
when you get your eyebrows waxed, the person takes a strip of paper with wax on it and rubs it over only sections of your eyebrow at a time. like, first they do above the brow, pull it off. then they do below the brow, pull it off. and any other areas that need it.

they usually pull the paper on and off about 3-4 times per eye. after they wax both eyes, the stylist uses tweezers to get rid of any remaining stray hairs that the waxing didn't take off.

its pretty much impossible for them to take off all your eyebrows! :) unless the person you go to is completeley stupid... haha really, no worries that would never happen.

start with waxing. you really only need to wax once. if you like how they are shaped, look in the mirror at them every day. when you start to see the hairs growing back in (its obvious to tell, they are way shorter than the rest of the hairs) just pluck them out. its great because you know your not messing anything up, your just keeping them how they were before.

its great, and eyebrows make such a difference on your appearance. i deffinatly reccomend waxing and plucking.

oh and if by chance you dont like the way they are waxed, you can just pencil in some touches and let the hairs grow back. your eyebrows will be back to normal within 2 weeks.

    good luck! :)
okay relax. they will not wax off your whole eye brow unless you tell them too. What they do is take some hot wax and put it on the hair you want removed. they put a cloth over the wax and press it on the wax. then they pull it off really fast pulling out the hairs. plucking is better because the wax clogs your pores and can sometimes burn your skin. i get my eye brows threaded which is an indian method of hair removal and its like plucking so its good for your skin.
Well, I pluck my eybrows, cuzz that way i can keep it the way I want without them looking different,..and besides if you wax a lot, your eyebrows will start sagging. Also, you will have to wait for all the hairs to fully grow out again before you get them waxed the 2nd time, but with plucking you can do it when ever. My mom had them waxed once and one of them wasto thin and short,...so now she just plucks em,...hope this helped! :)
dont worry they dont take all your eyebrows off, they are trained professionals. usually, i go to the nail salon with the chinese that do eyebrow.

waxing is better cause it last longer than plucking. also rub some alcohol on your eyebrows when they finish cause its going to itch that way if you scratch, you wont get bumps
Plucking is better. They won't take off all the hair. But you need to go to a good place in order to get it done right. Anything less will screw them up bad. Make sure you specify how u like your eyebrows (with an arch or not) and you should tell them if you don't want them too thin. It's worth the money to go to a good place. Ask around (friends, acquaintances) maybe someone can recommend a place.
Hi. Well, I use to pluck but I don't anymore. Cause when you wax they take the hair off that's not in place with your brow. This is done professionally so you don't have to worry about losing your eye brow. But, if you pluck you could accidently cause your eye brow to disappear. So i would profure waxing, just because its safer, quicker, easier!
They apply a hot wax to the area where the hair is to be pulled and rip the hair up; but it doesn't hurt. I like it better than eyebrow arching because during arching there is always the risk of getting cut. Oh, and the area that was waxed will be red for a while and it may sting a bit.
No they don't take off all the hair, they take off just enough to shape them. I pluck because I'm lazy. But it's cheap to get them waxed just around 12$ depending on where you go. They go to college to do this so it is unlikely they will screw up unless you go somewhere bad.
lol, no they dont wax off the whole thing, just go somewhere where u trust the people doing it and u will b fine, what i do is i only get my eyebrows waxed everyone once in a while then i just pluck the hair that grows in so i dont have to pay to get them waxed all the time
plucking is best as you can remove just the hairs you want.

In waxing, I have had that done several times, it doesn't leave a nice line. I would tend to say they take off less not more. It just doesn't look natural. Ice the area you want to pluck.
waxing feels a WHOLE lot better.

They just take off the hair that they think would shape your eyebrow well.

it takes off wherever they put the strip.

    its not bad at all.

it hurts for 2 seconds. The worst part is the bottom.

    But its not that bad.

    good luck %26lt;3
You have to be really specific about what you want. One time i got it pretty screwed up so go to a place thats been around awhile.. theres this thing called threading that works the best. They do it in malls. Its ok to tweeze in between to keep it up.
They usually wax first and then they pluck afterwards to get the fine hairs...sometimes, depending on how often you get them done they don't need to wax and will just pluck them. It just depends on how well you maintain them. Good luck!!!
they wont. just dont do it yourself. yes the wax pulls the hair from its root, and it hurts a little. i love getting them waxed, it is so clean after... like all the little ones you cannot get with tweezers

and i went to a new place this time.

    the girl seems nice,

it didnt hurt more than normal,

    but when i got home,

the redness under my right eyebrow would not go away.

it burns really bad, and hurts to even lift up my eyebrows.

    how can i fix it?

when will it go away?Painful eyebrow waxing?
she probably wasnt good at waxing and messed up and pulled some skin off. it should heal in a few weeksPainful eyebrow waxing?
With someone who knows what they are doing, there should only be a little sting and maybe some redness for no more than 24 hours. That person did not know what she was doing. I would find someone else if I were you.
This actually just happened to me, last friday. She burned you. Put some polysporin on it and it'll go away in a few days.

If you have been waxing your eyebrow for about 2 years,im now trying to grow them out and its been a month, do

you think they will fully grow back?If you have been waxing your eyebrow for about 2 years,im now trying to grow them out and its been a month, do
I agree with the others, they seem to never grow back in as thick as they once were. The hair growth rate for each folicle tends to be different and waxing alot seems to make the hair growth weaken.

I hope this helps!!If you have been waxing your eyebrow for about 2 years,im now trying to grow them out and its been a month, do
yea they will but not over nigh and about time they grow back your gonna wanna get them waxed....but stick it out...im letting mine grow back now but i wear long bangs so you cant tell
When eyebrows are pulled ougt it is a great possibility that they all won't grow back.

Because it is hard on the hair root.
They will grow in patchy, I know from experience. Sorry. :(

Every night rub your eyebrow area with Castor oil, this will help them grow, trust me.

    **Hope that helps**
    nope sorry...
they usually grow back patchy because some hair that you pull out might not ever grow back but you might get lucky and it fully grows out

What can do!? My eyebrow wax-er waxed the middle of my eyebrows and now there's a bunch of dry patches!?

She waxed the middle of my eyebrows and now there's a bunch of dry patches. I've tried so many things, but eventually it dries up again! I've been putting bacitracin on it at night, but it doesn't help! What can do!? My eyebrow wax-er waxed the middle of my eyebrows and now there's a bunch of dry patches!?
use lotionWhat can do!? My eyebrow wax-er waxed the middle of my eyebrows and now there's a bunch of dry patches!?
    I'd suggest petroleum jelly(Vaseline).

I used to have the WORST dry skin but if you put it on before bed and sleep with it on, your skin will be moisturized and glowing the next day.
    Moisturizer or vaseline

    Eyebrow Waxing vs. Eyebrow Tweezing?

Which hurts more? Eyebrow Waxing or Eyebrow Tweezing?Eyebrow Waxing vs. Eyebrow Tweezing?
If you've never done either, you can get a wax for $10-$15 and get a good shape going. Then upkeep them with good tweezers (Tweezerman $20 but worth it).

To wax, you have to wait until the hair grows out long enough for the wax to grip it. I can never wait, I'm constantly plucking.

As far as pain... personal opinion..Eyebrow Waxing vs. Eyebrow Tweezing?
    it depends.

waxing is more like quick pain and then it goes away and tweezing is painful with every hair.
for me, waxing hurts more because it swells up my skin around my brows and it hurts for a few hours after waxing. with tweezing, i pull in the direction the hair's growing and it doesn't hurt at all. also with waxing, i got a rash from the wax that was used.
tweezing hurts more because you have to pull every single little hair out. one at a time

with waxing, you get them all off at once.

for like not even 5 seconds of pain
tweezing beacaus it is little tiny pricks and you have to do a tone of em. with waxing you get it done in one shot
tweezing does. Its done within a second all at once with waxing. With tweezing you do it one by aching one
i've never had them waxed--but tweezing doesn't hurt me at all. in fact, i quite enjoy it. therapeutic, i guess. feeling of accomplishment, maybe. only a few hurt a bit the first time--but they just come out quite easily. it's a lot cheaper too!
Eyebrow tweezing is not painful until you get down towards the lid rather than the brow.

    Upper lip tweezing is painful!

Friends say they prefer waxing because it is all done at once.

EYEBROW WAXiNG & BikiNi WAXiNG.... AS BAD AS iT SOUNDS??

ok im scared to death of how much its gonna hurt but then again i see people getting their eyebrows waxed and what not and they dont even move [flinch]. Does it hurt as bad as it looks? Also, does bikini waxes hurt?Ive never really seen it done before and just thought of it sounds painful... Is it really that bad???EYEBROW WAXiNG %26amp; BikiNi WAXiNG.... AS BAD AS iT SOUNDS??
eyebrow waxing is not painful AT ALL. its way easier then tweezing and looks way more defined!! as for bikini waxes, they hurt but probably not as bad as you think it will. obviously, its a very sensitive area down there, but the end results are well worth the little bit of discomfort!EYEBROW WAXiNG %26amp; BikiNi WAXiNG.... AS BAD AS iT SOUNDS??
I personally love eyebrow waxing, because not only does it look good, but it saves so much time as opposed to plucking all the time. With waxing, I go in once every 2-3 weeks and it takes less than 5 minutes, it gets all the hair in a few short strips, and I don't have to sit in front of a mirror straining myself to pluck every little hair. The first time I went, it hurt a little, but not that much. I think it hurts just as much as plucking, but it's a lot quicker. The only downside to it is, the skin around your eyebrows gets a little red after doing it, but it goes away after awhile...

I don't know about bikini waxing, but I've heard that it's also quick and easy. I've also heard that it stays smoother longer...
no eyebrow waxing is not that bad

i think it hurts less then tweezing

but i get my eye brows threaded! it hurts the most but worth it
Yeah but ou get ussed to it and it only hurts for a few minutes its like having a rubber band smacking your skin
Really it depends on how much pain you can handle... I haven't got a bikini wax. but, I've been and done my own waxing.. I am a cosmetologist... To me the first time I waxed my eyebrow, lip, legs or arms.. kinda hurt but, it isn't bad at all.. If done right the pain will only last a second.. Your be happy you got it done.. oh and I think tweezing hurts more than waxing..
waxing any part of your body hurts alot!!! also if you have sensitive skin i would not recommend it as your skin will begin to chafe and there is always the risk of ingrown hairs ( those hurt like a mutha) i prefer shaving , its the safest best
