First eyebrow waxing?

I am going for my first eyebrow wax,can anyone tell me if it hurts, does the sting last for long.

I am kind of nervous about it!First eyebrow waxing?
i had my first eye brow wax a few months ago and i was really nervous to...and there wasn't much reason to feel that way..

Ok..yes its got a slight pain to it( i ain't going to lie to you)

But the wax is warm which opens up the pores so the hairs are waxed easier..Your eyebrows can looked quite red and puffy for almost a day..a thing they ask you is not to wear make up for 24 hours:(

Gud luck xx(but you dont really need it)First eyebrow waxing?
Personallyt I don't think it hurts that much. A little sting and that's it. Trust me a lot better then plucking that hurts so bad. When they're waxing keep your face noce and relaxed if you feel tense just grab something. But believeme it isn't the worst pain
The sting lasts 2 seconds, your eyebrows will be a little red, but the pain is nothing to be nervous about, I get mine done every 2 weeks, so it can't hurt too bad!

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?鈥?/a>
dont get em waxed it hurts more and is less effective as threading http://www.metacafe.com/watch/923893/thr鈥?/a> trust me i get mine threaded
It will just hurt for a couple of seconds and your skin will be a bit red afterwards. But it does not hurt too bad. It is worth the pain!

How bad does it hurt to get your eyebrow waxed?

On a scale to 1-10 meaning 10 the worst. I have long eyebrow hairs and its kinda thick.... Best answerHow bad does it hurt to get your eyebrow waxed?
Pain in itself is experienced differently from person to person.

So.. there is only one way to find out the answer to your question...

Heat up the wax and go for it.

I'M AN EGG!How bad does it hurt to get your eyebrow waxed?
For me it doesn't hurt at all. It would probably hurt the first time because like you said you have long eyebrows and there thick so more hair the more pain it is. But it's really not bad the first time. The first time i got them done i was scared but when it was done i was like that's it? Haha. But the pain the first time getting them done was probably a 4. Plucking them hurts more though. But trust me it doesn't hurt. Once you get it done frequently it will have no effect on you.
It can depend on the person that does it. I go to a nice salon where they use wax for sensitive skin and she's more gentle and puts calming creams, etc on afterwards. She also puts on a lotion that slows the growth of hair. I would say I'd rank it at a 3 maybe, not bad at all. However, I went to a cheapie place my first time and they used harsh waxes and weren't as soft, and I'd rank that at like 6 or 7. If I were you, I'd spend the the extra $5 or $10 for the comfort and better quality outcome.
Maybe a 3 or 4 but everyone's tolerance to pain is different. Some people freak out about it while others think it's no big deal. Personally, I think it does sting but the pain goes away really fast and it seems like the more you do it, the less painful it gets. When you see how nice your eyebrows look afterwards, it's all worth it, trust me. I have mine waxed about twice a month. I couldn't live without it! If you have a cool stylist, he or she will place their fingers over the waxed area right after pulling the cloth and wax off. This really helps numb the pain and the sensation of having the warm wax put on is nice. In all honesty, having your lip waxed is more painful (I do that too).
it all depends on the person thats doing them%26gt;i used to work at a salon and i used to wax eyebrows all day long.everyone is different.but when i get mine done i have come to realize that some times it hurts more than others.but even when it does hurt its a quick pain and its totally worth it.the pain is about a 7 but thats on one of the bad days :)
Well I have only ever had my eyebrows waxed - and thyat put me off waxing forever.

God knows what the beautician did, but she ripped off the skin inder my eyebrows and it was agony! A good 7/10 pain i would say. I think she was new and didn't have a clue what she was doing, but I had scabby eyebrows for a week or so after that.

Completely put me off waxing.

Please make sure you go to a professional - that way, it shouldn't be too sore!
Not to bad. its a quick sting..comparable to ripping duct tape off your arm, or maybe a bee sting(but not as prolonged.) if its your first time your skin may become a lil sensitive... after the third time getting waxed it doesn't generally hurt at all... Remember the first time you plucked..? Whooo.! that hurt, but now its a piece of cake no pain involved..;)
The first time you get it done it will sting, especially if there's a lot to come off. .But the pain only lasts for seconds maybe a couple of mins and that's it. After a few times it becomes less painful, I actually find it really relaxing getting mine waxed now.. xxx
the first time you ever do it its like an 8, bujt after that, it doesnt hurt that bad. just grab on to something. and dont twitch or srunch up, the person waxing your eyebrows can take off the entire thing if you do that
well mine aren't that thick like yours.

The first time i got mine waxed, i tried

thinking about ice cream instead of the

pain. It kinda worked because it didn't

hurt as much as i thought it would.

Honestly, tweezing hurts a whole lot

more than waxing.
Maybe like a 3-4.

It really doesn't hurt much, and the warm wax helps open the pores so the hair comes out easier. Also, my stylist puts on this soothing lotion that helps with the redness.
waxing is so much better then tweezing them i would say it is like a 2 or 3 ... lol i kinda like it the hot wax feels good !!! lol try it is really is not that bad .
Well it all depends on your pain tolerance level. But Ive had mine done a few times so I'd give it like a 2. And it's definitley worth a little pain.
A little but not if it is done correctly. I have long, strong eyebrow hairs too but i would say about a 4. Or a six if your pain threshold isn't too good! It's well worth it though!!
hurts for a moment and then you are free and clear. Go for it, it is worth it...and word to the wise.... they pluck the strays afterwards.... so be aware
It doesn't really hurt that much because its so quick. Its only like a quick sting for like a sec. For me i'd say its about a 3 or 4.
5 my eyes tear up a little but it doesn't hurt that much. I think the thicker the hair the more it'll hurt.
it may hurt the first couple of times but by the time they start waxing the next eyebrow you will be used to it.
3-4. It hardly hurts at all. I get mine done at benefit. Its less painful then getting them plucked. and it lasts longer. : )

9, but it's soooooooooooo worth it. Don't tweeze them, because it's like waxing every single one, but worse.

  • Eyebrow Waxing, Lifted Skin, And Scarring?

I went Sunday to get my eyebrows waxed, the woman told me that acne medication made my skin lift. Now I have this 1-2in red line below my eyebrow. The woman gave me this foundation that has something in it that will heal my skin. I applied neosporin and ice to the site. What can I do to prevent it from scarring?Eyebrow Waxing, Lifted Skin, And Scarring?
Keep applying the neosporin and keep it clean. Otherwise leave it alone--no scratching or picking at it.

Eyebrow waxing causes saggy skin ?

I HAVE BEEN GETTIN MY EYEBROWS DONE FOR A GOOD 2 YEARS NOW AND MY FRIEND HAS TOLD ME THAT WAXING CAUSES YOUR SKIN UNDER YOUR EYEBROW TO SAG

IS THIS TRUE ??Eyebrow waxing causes saggy skin ?
not true. I have been waxing for 30 years. firm as a new facelift!Eyebrow waxing causes saggy skin ?
I've had mine done for a good 10 years and mine hasn't sag yet. Maybe they will when I get in my 80's. A beautician friend of mine has never heard of it.
I never heard of that before and have been waxing my eyebrows for a few years now

    Eyebrow waxing advice?

I'm 13 going on 14 and my mom finally agreed to let me get my eyebrows waxed and a salon I know and trust. Any advice I should know before I get my eyebrows waxed? Please %26amp; thank you ; )Eyebrow waxing advice?
Go with a picture of what you are looking for as far as shape of your brows. Be prepared for the sting, it only hurts for a few minutes and it is well worth the pain. Also expect your skin to be red for a few hours, so don't make this something you do on your way to do something that you want to look really good for. Ice helps to calm down the redness.Eyebrow waxing advice?
i've been getting mine waxed every two weeks since i was only 12 years old. Take Asprin before you go. the more you go, the less it starts to hurt, in my opinon, because you get used to it. And don't panic if your face is all red afterwards, the redness will slowly die down and in an hour, your face and the area around your eyebrows will be there normal color again.

it's nothing to worry about, you'll be fine = )
If you've never had them waxed before, I can't stress enough: TAKE PICTURES with you!!! A good wax job should follow your natural arch anyway, and if the person is good, they will automatically know this. HOWEVER, I can't tell you how many women I've seen with bad wax jobs!!!! Take pictures with you and discuss your expectations before allowing them to do anything.
go to a reputable place where they use individual spatulas per dip, you don't want other people's bacteria floating around in the wax. Also make sure the people in the salon have nice eyebrows.

Take a tylenol about an hour before :)
    you will be fine.

    umm

make sure she doesn't wax too much off especially for the first time cause your mum might get a bit shocked from the change and ban you from doing it again.

So maybe just say to neaten them up.

apparently the top part of the eyebrow grows back faster and it needs alot of maintainence. so watch out for that bit.

    GOOD LUCK , ENJOY!!!!
it'll burn alot the first time, but you'll get used to it

try hitting yourself in the eyebrow area with a rubber band, it feels like that.
It only hurts as bad as peeling a band-aid off real fast. Also if its a little red after around your eyebrows don't freak out its natural and the redness will go away in 30-60min.
no, . it's quick, easy and makes your eyes look great. it does hurt a bit, but it's over quick
it hurts the first couple of times

I may try a new place for my eyebrow waxing.....help...?

I want my eyebrows done and my normal girl can only do them during the day - I have little kids so that makes it hard. I can have the nail place do it (they do a killer pedicure). However, they are all Chinese and they don't speak much English. How do I tell them not to take off too much?? I just want them cleaned up a bit.I may try a new place for my eyebrow waxing.....help...?
they should be able to understand you. the vietnamese girl that i go to does a very good job and although she speaks little english she always repeats back to me what i want so that i know that she knows. perhaps you could tell her ';not too much'; and then ask her something like ';are you gonna take a lot off'; or ';do you understand what i want?'; just to make sure she understands. they know the basics which is all that matters as long as my brows look good

hope i helped!I may try a new place for my eyebrow waxing.....help...?
    try natural body
do they have a license to do waxing?

did you know each person who does the waxing needs a license to do it? not the business; each person individually needs one.

go to your regular girl. she knows your brows and can probably do them in minutes and you'll be happy. if you go to someone you don't know (or who has no license) you don't know what you'll end up looking like.

i charge double if one of my clients goes to one of those places (i can tell by the shape of them) and i have to fix it over time. i tell everyone on the first visit that i will charge double if they go there. not one of the places where i live are licensed to do it but do anyway.

the salon needs a license and each person who waxes needs a license.

    Effects of eyebrow waxing?

I have a job interview tomorrow, but I was also thinking of getting my eyebrows waxed a couple hours before.I have never gotten them waxed before, so should I just wait in case they get really red?Effects of eyebrow waxing?
Get them waxed after the interview. You might have a reaction to the wax, prep treatment or after treatment and would be red and swollen for a few days. But yes, you would be a bit red at the interview.Effects of eyebrow waxing?
i would definately wait as well,,,i am a regular eyebrow and lip waxer...if you are pale skin as me..you will definately get red for a while...i would say 2 hours is the time it takes the red to go away..you certainly don't want to go on a job interview looking as if you just had a wax for the position.. ha ha
yeh you should wait sometimes white spots do appear. i refer you to use natural product only.shea butter products are most effective which provide you flawless beauty and soreless skin.u should go to www.purelyshea.com

i am sure you feel top of the world.your problem will be solved in no time.
Unless you have really thick bushy brows don't worry about waxing them, if your set on doing it make sure that you have at least 3-4 hour window to allow redness to go away they will be red because not only does it remove hair it does skin too.
Most likely they will bright red for a few hours, and a little red for a day or two after. I would def wait! Just pluck the strays for now, then wax right after the interview! Hope this helps .
They stay red for hours and hours sometimes esp on your first time up to a day so best the day before

  • Mark from eyebrow waxing is still there!!?

Yesterday i got my eyebrows waxed and i iced it and the swelling and redness went down but there's still a mark from where the hair on my eyebrows have been. you know how when you lean up against a binder and you get the mark from it? well that's what it looks like above my eyebrows except it's in the shape of an eyebrow. how do i get it to fade away?Mark from eyebrow waxing is still there!!?
make upMark from eyebrow waxing is still there!!?
Give it a couple days. I mean think about it. You just teared out all of those hairs at once. You're going to have some irritation. I'd suggest makeup. For the meantime, put some vitamin e or Neosporin on it. It will make it heal faster.
cover it with a bit of foundation or concealer because if u have dark eye brows its harder to make the line less visable due to the root and colour of the eyebrow

    Alternatives to eyebrow waxing!?

I break out really bad all along the top of my brows when i get them waxed but i love how waxing gets rid of all the little hairs! are there any alternatives!?Alternatives to eyebrow waxing!?
try plucking them.Alternatives to eyebrow waxing!?
    Threading.

Apparently, it hurts more, but lasts much longer.
threading, plucking, or there are eyebrow ';shavers'; you can get at any drug store, or walmarts.
    electrolysis
    threading, plucking

possibly, electrolysis if you're up for the costs...

beauty's a pain no matter what you do

    %26gt;.%26lt;
threading is safe and fast and less hair grows back each time, plus its cheaper
plucking, threading, sugaring...or just go natural
you can pluck just use vacaline the waxxxy stuff and then pluck them away its quit easy!
    burn them off.

oh, laser hair removal if you're not that extreme.
    Plucking

If your not comfterble doing it yourself im pretty sure waxing places teach you how to pluck :)
    useing twizzers and pluck them
It is called threading! It is awesome, and better than waxing! They have little shops all around, and they use needle thread to do it. It's fast and inexpensive~about $8-10. It doesn't hurt and it keeps the hair gone longer in my opinion! Check it out!
    pluck them..

    im getting mine waxed friday:)

    yaay!

i get it done every other friday.

    love it.

    %26lt;345678
Use a little eyebrow razor. They don't make you break out like waxing does. And if you make a mistake, just take some eyeliner and fill it in.

    Hope this helps!
Plucking. electrolisis facial hair removal cream
Eyebrow plucking, it doesn't cause a rash.
    plucking, threading
Threading! It hurts less and you will get a more well defined brow.Find a salon where you an have your eyebrows threaded.
Threading works just as well. If the right person does it.

If you can't find a salon that does it try your local Indian Grocery. There's a lady that does it in my city. And I live in Texas.
I totally know what you are talking about! there are two reason as to why you break out.

    1. the wax is too hot. the wax will burn you and create those little ingrown hairs that look like acne.

    2. the cooling solution that smells sooo good. its really really oily and will make you break out. ask them to not put that stuff on. and instead when you get home put some facial lotion on them. that oily stuff is basically vasaline and no ones pores can breathe with vasaline on them!!

    i hope this helps
yes, you can pluck them with tweezers, that's usually what i do because i don't get to my beautician often enouph, ocassionally i even used my razor %26amp; shaved my unibrow.actually i think plucking them w/ tweezers is less irritating also.
    threading works
there's this weirdo threading thing that's become popular..

but i hear it hurts more than waxing but is better for your skin?
I tweeze my eyebrows very carefully. It can be more painful and the swelling lasts for a while, but it is easier to shape and define the brows than waxing.
    Threading
tweezing always works too. also threading. and if u have money to burn laser.
    pluck pluck pluck !!
sometimes it is the brand/type of wax that is used that causes the reaction/breakouts.

    try changing brands of wax

sugar wax is less irritating than the purple stuff(i can't remember the name.....sally hansen makes
    Kemo?
why would u get your eyebrow waxed?
shave em' off baby. its so much more manageable

Can I go tanning and get an eyebrow wax with 30 minutes of each other?

And which should I do first? Can I go tanning and get an eyebrow wax with 30 minutes of each other?
i wouldnt get an eyebrow wax first cause then your poors are open and sensitive , but it would be okay to go tanning and then get your eyebrows done (:Can I go tanning and get an eyebrow wax with 30 minutes of each other?
    i'd get eyebrow wax first!

    Hey, eyebrow waxing question!?

Okay so I wax my eyebrows. regularly. and i was just wondering if there was anyway to make the hair grow back slower. cause im getting my eyebrows done every 2 weeks. and they get BRUTAL. so i was just wondering if there was a way to make my hair grow back slower. tips?

and dont suggest plucking. duhHey, eyebrow waxing question!?
Cosmetologist of 25 years here!! You can use some cream they sell on the market to slow hair growth. It is safe for the face and is available at the drugstore. Only catch is you have to apply daily and be consistent or it does not work.

Hope this was helpful!!Hey, eyebrow waxing question!?
hmmm i don't know how to slow them down with products or anything, but you waxing your eyebrows every 2 weeks has some part to do with it. The wax lady person told me waxing hair makes the hair grow faster, so don't do it a lot. Just once a month or every 2 months (depends on your hair %26amp; all that)
you can always the eyebrow threading. It always take 3 to 4 weeks to grow up your eyebrows...

take a look at this video:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NK-QzPLgU鈥?/a>
not that i know of, mines usually grows back in about 2 weeks and when they do i take out the tweezers so you have no choice ; srry =(

How do you get Sally Hansen eyebrow wax out of a shirt?

You can try putting ice on it and then peeling it off. Another easy way is to lay a thick papertowel over the wax area, and then run a hot iron over it. The papertowel will soak up the wax once it becomes a liquid. How do you get Sally Hansen eyebrow wax out of a shirt?

  • Am I Being too Nervy and Rude to Do This? (Eyebrow Waxing Appointment)?

I've gotten my eyebrows waxed at this really skilled woman, and I've made an appointment yesterday (Friday) for another appointment. I found out that day from my mom that I had to go the doctor though, and I wanted to call and reschedule, but I didn't have the number of the place with me. I was at work, and didn't have any access to phone books or the internet. So would I be nervy and rude to ask her to squeeze me in today? She usually at least has a few spots a day. Or should I just go in with an apology and a fat tip? Serious answers, please!Am I Being too Nervy and Rude to Do This? (Eyebrow Waxing Appointment)?
Go with apology and fat tip. It's rude to be a no-show for an appt. And even more rude to ask for favors the next time you go in.Am I Being too Nervy and Rude to Do This? (Eyebrow Waxing Appointment)?
If you can, call information for the number. Though some employers have it blocked. If you can't call then go in person. Explain the situation and leave the rescheduling to her. That way you're not putting pressure on her by just showing up to have it done. She may be able to squeeze you in or she may have to reschedule you. But you'll never know till you ask. Good luck.
One of the things that I always try to remember is that you are the one paying her for her services. In other words, you are the customer. Just like in a department store that placed your clothing on hold for 24 hours and you happened to miss that appointment to pick them up, does that mean that you need to run into the store and beg for forgiveness with a large tip? The answer is no. These people work at these places and they know that not everyone follows through. Remember that you're probably not the only person that has missed an appointment. And also remember that you were scheduled for a doctor's appointment (without knowing) that was probably more vital than having your eyebrows done.

It will not be rude of you at all to call her, apologize for the missed appointment, and ask if she has room for you today. That is her job, and I'm sure she will be thrilled to have another interested and, from the looks of it, returning customer. There is no need for a large tip, unless you feel that it is absolutely necessary. A simple apology is all that you need.

Just keep in mind that no one is perfect and that it's okay to miss appointments, it's not polite, but it happens; and every time it happens you do not need to grovel and bring in large tips.
so I take it you skipped the appointment without calling? If that is the case then you were rude. But go in to the place IN PERSON and explain that you are so sorry you missed your appointment. Tell her that you had a doctor's appointment on the same day and hadnt realized it and tell her you need her business card because you didnt have her number. Just make sure she knows you are sorry and ask to reschedule whenever she has an opening and take a business card so you always have her number! Then give a good tip if she sees you again.
I would say the best way to handle it is to apologize, make another appointment, and give the fat tip. Asking her to squeeze you in when you already inconvenienced her might give her the impression that you don't think her job is all that important. If you really appreciate her skills, it would be best to make the appointment to show that you do respect her and would like to continue to have her wax your eyebrows. The tip will seal the deal and it should be all better.
You could have called information and gotten her number.

She had reserved time for you, and I take it that you were a no call/no show. Very rude. I wouldn't blame her if she told you she doesn't want you as a customer any more.

You should go in, with a fat tip. Really fat tip. And apologies. Yes, you can ask when is it convenient for her to fit you in. Do it on her schedule, not yours.
it wouldn't be rude at all. Just call and let her know something came up so you cant' come to your appt but would love it if she can fit you in today. if not just ask her to reschedule for a different day.
I never have a problem with calling and asking, you never know who cancels at the last minute for - a last minute situation, THINGS happen.

It never hurts to ask. . . all that can happen is she will have no other time available. . and you keep what you have.

It's really not a big deal, just a phone call. good luck
I would go in and apologize and explain what happened. Most people are very understanding when they are aware of the circumstances, because we have all been there!

    Good Luck!

On average, how long does an upper lip and eyebrow wax last?

I have graduation in exactly a month and I really have to get my eyebrows and upper lip done. But I wanna make sure it will last until then? I don't wanna get it done too early and then have the hair just starting to poke through to the point where it's visible but I can't get it removed...On average, how long does an upper lip and eyebrow wax last?
about 2-8 weeks. depends though if you got it professionaly done or not.On average, how long does an upper lip and eyebrow wax last?
hello. i have an answer to your dilema. well with upper lip hair you can wax it and it could last up to a week. maybe 3. but depending on what age you are, you can get special treatments that will permantly remove your upper lip hair. electrolisis or laser. you have to be 16 and it cozts over 100 pounds. i have the same problem as you because i have very dark hair. and your eyebrows should last up to 3 weeks.

    good luck with your graduation!!!!!!!
First of all, you don't have to be 16 (like the guy said) It costs 15 for eyebrows and 10 ($) for lip. So about 25-30. And mine only lasts 1 week. (sadly) so it costs me some moneyy.
    mine 2 weeks

Anyone had any eyebrow waxing accidents? Haha.?

I did mine at some salon and she sort of burnt a little and then she lied and then said it was there before I came. Haha.Anyone had any eyebrow waxing accidents? Haha.?
    awh. Thats horrible.

I've never had my eyebrows waxed, but when I was first plucking my eyebrows I didn't know how to do it really. I kept trying to fix my right one, and I had to tell myself to stop trying because I knew I would end up with no eyebrow. It turned out fine...after some of the hair grew back. Lol. Not too bad.Anyone had any eyebrow waxing accidents? Haha.?
    LOL, wow bad salon.

Anyways, i pluck my eyebrows, i dunno why but, it turned out good.

But yeah i did try waxing (myself) but nothing bad happened.

So yeah, don't go back to that salon. SHE LIED MAN xD
Oh lord! I never wax my brows, but I usually pluck them myself. I always do a good job, but one time last year I plucked too much and they were nearly invisible by the time I got them even! I'm very careful now...
Haha. Woah, I'd be worried about going there again!

    Nope never,

The lady that did mine was really good..so no accidents for me!

    :)
she should of tested it before she applied it on you. You should of complained cause most times that will turn in to a scab

I called 3 places about eyebrow waxing, this is what happened...?

So I called three places, because I was going to ask the price, how much experience they had, and if they used templates or not.

Place 1 couldnt figure out what I was talking about when I asked if they used templates, so I asked if they used forms, and she still couldnt figure it out! And she didnt know how much experience anyone had. the price was $12.

Place 2 sounded like an older lady, her price was $5 and she had about 25 years exp.

Place 3 was $10 and when I asked how much experience they had she asked what I meant. When I explained, she said 25yrs.

And the only place someone recommended, the person that recommended is said they use a template (and the price was $8.50) so, the $5 one sounds like my best bet, but cheapest is usually not so good. So what to I do?I called 3 places about eyebrow waxing, this is what happened...?
Go with the one for $5. Anyone who uses templates is questionable, because that seems like a skill you should easily master. Never heard of a template for eyebrows. I pay $5 to arch my eyebrows when I get my nails done. It shouldn't cost more than $5. The hot waz takes about 5 minutse. Go with the one with 25 years exp, she probably had a lot of different arches! Also go there to the $5 spot and while you are waiting ask some patrons how they do eyebrows.I called 3 places about eyebrow waxing, this is what happened...?
I've had professional waxes and never had anyone use a template nor do I use one when I do it myself. It's pretty much like tweezing your brows in that you put the wax where you want the hair removed. As long as you can explain how much brow you want removed they should be able to do it.
I would go to the old lady who seemed to know what you were talking about.5$

    Check out HER eyebrows first.

    Good Luck
I've always paid about $10 for my eyebrow waxing so that's not a bad price at all but I am also VERY cautious about who I let wax....I do not want to walk around with one eyebrow!!! Anyways I would go with whichever one gave you the best gut feeling. If nothing else go by the three salons and check them out. If everyone there seems like they're missing a few marbles then you may want to try somewhere else. It's really good to talk to people that get them waxed somewhere so you can kinda see an end result. Do you have a place you normally go to get your hair done? If they don't wax they might know who's good in your area.

Really hope this helps, I know how hard it is to trust waxers (especially on your face)...good luck!

Does eyebrow & Upperlip hair waxing hurt when its done in a salon?

There is some discomfort and be prepared to have red eyes and red lip for a few hours, so dont go on a day that you are planning to go out on the evening lol xDoes eyebrow %26amp; Upperlip hair waxing hurt when its done in a salon?
Okay, I've only ever had my eyebrows done, was quite nervous the first time I had it done cause everyone has told me it hurts loads and I'd never really had any experience with waxing before.

But it was just a quick nip, I hardly felt it and I'm a total pussy when it comes to stuff like that. Don't worry!

Also, I've never had any problems with nedness or anything afterwards. I saw my mum have it really bad once. Best idea is to avoid makeup and stuff before and for 24 hours afterwards.Does eyebrow %26amp; Upperlip hair waxing hurt when its done in a salon?
It is a sharp sting, but it goes away pretty quickly. Similar to a bee sting, I think. Depending on how good your esthetician is will make all the difference in the world. Before you get waxed (anyway) make sure the person is certified, and reputable. I usually prefer to go to new places based on referrals because I know the person is good.
Yeah it hurts alright, and it can cost a lot of money. But if it's the way you want to go, more power to you. Waxing works very well though. If you aren't ready to give into the pain maybe you should try a depilatory cream for your upper lip, and just get the eyebrows waxed, or stick with plucking for the brows.
Yes. It doesn't matter weather you do it at home or at a salon it still hurts. Although I think it's better to have it done at a salon they have more experience at doing it quickly and accuratley. I find it harder to do it to myself coz u know how much it's gonna hurt!
yes, just a little bit..you can always get wax from boots chemist, and do them yourself.mary.c.
whether salon or home it will tingle. But make sure you hold skin tight and then wax.
If u ask me thay hutr either way done at home or a salon. Unless ur use 2 it.
    Why bother ?

  • How can I make eyebrow wax at home?

Please answer quickly. How can I make eyebrow wax at home?
You can try this, its called body sugaring:

    Ingredients

    * 1 cup sugar

    * Half a lemon for the juice

    * 1/4 cup honey

    * A little bit of Molasses if you have any like a drizzle

    * Cornstarch (to powder with for tautness making it more effective)

    * Something to spread the mixture with like a tongue depressor, popsicle stick, cheese spreader or spatula.

    * Cotton fabric (any old thing you can find or buy some strips at a store)

Mix lemon, sugar, and honey in a bowl. Microwave on high for about 2-3 minutes, until it bubbles into a smooth consistency. I find this a lot simpler then turning on the stove, but it would be safer if you watched over the heat on the stove. If you use the stove use LOW heat. Now move away from the mixture and go do something while it cools a little down so you can touch it safely. A little bit warmer though is better though to use. Microwave it for 20 seconds if you find the need to. The NADS commercial said re heating isn鈥檛 necessary, but it鈥檚 no big deal doing so and I find it is necessary as all sugaring products do need just a little heating.

Make sure your legs or where ever you wish to place it is clean and dry. Then dust area with cornstarch so it鈥檚 more effective as it draws out oil. Spread a thin layer on your leg. Cover with a strip of fabric, and rubbing the strip the opposite way of hair growth, about 3 times.

Grab the fabric end and pull it off very quickly against the direction of the hair growth or the other way if you wish. It will hurt, but after awhile it鈥檚 a lot less painful. I鈥檓 sure you鈥檙e strong enough to withstand pain. Reheat the mix if it gets too hard to spread. This stores for a long time. I just use a vitamin E face cream container that鈥檚 plastic since that鈥檚 fairly big which costs only a buck at the dollar store. Just make sure it's clean and oil free. You could also use a glass jar as well. How can I make eyebrow wax at home?
don't make it at home or buy it at a store. the money you spend on everything and the time and the mess that you create and the possibility of messing up your eyebrows...just go spend 15 bucks to avoid all of the above.
You cant make it but they have good kits you can buy at wall-mart and stuff hope it helps....PLZ RETURN THE FAVOR AND ANSWER MY LATEST QUESTION IF YOU CAN

    Question about eyebrow waxing problem?

So everytime I get my eyebrows waxed, it seems like they rip off a layer of skin or somthing because makeup won't stay on around where they were waxing for like a week or two after. I also get little tiny pimples from it too. I need to get my eyebrows done but this is so annoying! Does anyone know why this happens to me? Thanx :o)Question about eyebrow waxing problem?
some people have that problem because they are allergic to the actual wax.

and others it only happens to when they do it at a particular place.

    try another place.

    or try going to indians.

they actually use strings instead of wax.

it hurts a little more but at least it stays looking done longer.Question about eyebrow waxing problem?
the next time you go to get it done tell them your problem and try suggesting that the wax is a little too hot but be polite and ask if they have a different kind of wax for sensitive skin
My salon, has a two types of waxs. One for skin that is prone to breakouts, and a normal one. Ask about it :)
The wax is probably too hot.

Should you tip when getting an eyebrow wax?

so i kno u should tip when getting a hair cut but how bout something that doesnt take too long like an eyebrow wax for under $10? If u think u should how much? If not then let me kno too.Should you tip when getting an eyebrow wax?
Yes, please tip. Those people work for tips. If the service is only $10, then just tip $1.50 (15%) or $2 (20%). Because the service doesn't take long, they'll get more clients and therefore more tips. Meaning, you don't have to tip big, but do tip, it's a courtesy.Should you tip when getting an eyebrow wax?
its completely up to you but try to remember how you would feel if you were in there shoes
....if great service, a tip is nice......remember one drop of wax can ruin a brow.....i've always covered their eyes and lashes w/ a cotton pad...

Eyebrow waxing (boys and girls answer please!!!!!)?

ok im gonna ask my mom to get my eyebrows waxed for the first time tomorrow. how should i ask her?

guys does it matter to you (the whole bush eyebrow thing)

girls how old were you when you first got them waxed and how did you tell your mom that you wanted them done?Eyebrow waxing (boys and girls answer please!!!!!)?
I was about 13 when I told my mom I wanted it done. I have thick brows so she completely understood, and the thing is, I just went to her and said ';Mom, I want to get my brows done';...it really wasn't that big of a deal.Eyebrow waxing (boys and girls answer please!!!!!)?
i first got them waxed this year (and i was 15) but my eyebrows were fine before, they just needed to be neater.

i just asked my mom, and she was just made the appointment. waxing isn't something that should be a big deal, but if it doesn't convince her go with the ';everyone else does it'; routine and say you'll pay for it.

i personally think bush eyebrows make girls look manly, like i saw this girl when i was at the mall and she was fine, but she had these huge bush man brows and it made her look really bad.
I was about 13. My mother didn't care much because that's just how my mother is (may not be the same situation for you).

But i don't think it's really big deal it doesn't hurt but for a second. It grows back in about 3 weeks.

I think neatly groomed eyebrows are a very good look on a girl.

Something with a nice arch, like this...
I was 12 and I told my mom can i please get my eyebrows done i hate them they are so ugly! She agreeded that she would do them but no major shape she would just clean them up a little and she did and they look awesome i love my eye brows!
    10.

i told her i didnt like the way they looked, and she took me to the salon.

    my mom understood, thank god..

Is there a way to make your own eyebrow wax?

I cant afford to have it done at the salon anymore and I'm not interested in buying a waxing kit.

Ta.Is there a way to make your own eyebrow wax?
the primary ingredient in eyebrow wax is petroleum jelly, or beeswax. try one of those items and see if that's what you're wanting to obtain.

two-two has spokenIs there a way to make your own eyebrow wax?
not really.....only if ur interested in using tape.........
    use a razor or tape
    Yeah, it's called syrup!

  • Eyebrow waxing is bad?

I heard that apparently, waxing your eyebrows will cause your skin to become loose and like fall slightly. Is this true?

    Thank youEyebrow waxing is bad?
Waxing is definitely better than shaving or hair removal cream, since it takes the hair deep from the roots.

By the way, from personal experience DON'T USE HAIR REMOVAL CREAM, It stings like mad and doesn't work! your skin just ends up more red and so sore. I don't recommend it

But with waxing, its easier and quicker than with tweezers, plus if you don't have a very good pain tolerance, as much as waxing does hurt, its over and done with pretty quickly (this is coming from a 15yr old girl by the way)

If you are planning to get your eye brows waxed, always have it done professionally at a salon, and don't do it by yourself with those ready-done wax strips, cos they just don't work well/effectively.

Sure it costs, but it lasts up to 6 weeks, well for me anyway.

Have a full maintenance every 6-8 weeks, for hair cut, eyebrow and upper lip waxing.Eyebrow waxing is bad?
I don't know but it will certainly make you look like Marilyn Manson.
No, I wax my eyebrows regularly and so do a lot of people... never heard of such effect. Skin becomes loose with age naturally for everyone

When i get my eyebrows waxed my make up never seems to stick to area so i get white marks under my eyebrow?

when applying make up, any ideas how to stop this? When i get my eyebrows waxed my make up never seems to stick to area so i get white marks under my eyebrow?
Yeah and you get also very bad looking white on the same area as well when taking pictures, and its because of the wax, try something else, BTW it will take some time to be normal give it few more days to heal up.

.When i get my eyebrows waxed my make up never seems to stick to area so i get white marks under my eyebrow?
get ur eyebrows threaded instead of wax

  • Eyebrow waxing vs threading? teesside?

I usually have my eyebrows waxed around once every 2 months, and in the meantime pluck the stray hairs as they grow bck in each day, but usually after about 6-8 weeks lots of hairs start coming bck in at once and im too lazy to keep up with the amount of attention they need, so i need to have them re-waxed. However ive read on the net that having your eyebrows waxed can eventually make the skin saggy, as its ripping a layer of skin off along with the hair and weakening the skin.

Is it bad for my skin having my eyebrows waxed every 2 months??

Ive read threading is better but cant find a salon that does this in teesside, uk (must be one just i dont know of it, any suggestions fab if anyone happens to live there). Also is threading for just the odd stray hair or for removing about the same amount of eyebrow hairs as waxing does and how long does it last before hairs start coming back in?Eyebrow waxing vs threading? teesside?
theorically if your waxing and its removing your hairs but in the same time it will remove the top layer of your epidermis. but mostly consists of dead skin cells. but i see situations where it does remove alot of skin. which may lead to skin sagging. I think threading would be the best way. its an old asian form of hair removal. works effectively but not many knows how to do so. i noticed you stated that you are from the uk, im not too familiar with the uk because i am from LA california, but you might want to find a town that has alot of asian population which leads to alot of asian stores. they might have a beauty salon there. when i mean asian i mean like indians, chinese, etc. i hope this has helpped your pondering.Eyebrow waxing vs threading? teesside?
THREDDING IS GREAT IT VERY PROSICE COMPARED TO WAXING WHICH DONT GET ME WRONG IS ACE BUT THREADING GIVES U THAT PERFECT NATURAL LOOK
Ive been waxing my brows for years, and usually it takes several weeks to grow back. When I was single and had more money, Id go every 2-3 weeks, but now I wait longer. I havent noticed any skin weakening or sagging.I have been told that threading is less painful, but I dont know how long it lasts.
From experience, plucking or threading pulls hairs from the root, and so dies waxing. However with waxing a very thin layer of you skin goes too. Understand that it only looks like more hairs are comming in because on a hairless surface it will look that way. My suggestion to you is to have them plucked or threaded. its the safest if you are concerned about your skins appearance.

I want to get my eyebrows waxed and shaped by someone who knows what they're doing. Are there any salons that you can just walk into without having to make an appointment? Around how much is it?Eyebrow Waxing at Salon?

Normally $10 bucks and they are usually pretty good.

Only thing is once you start you will be there every week, good luck!
Nail salons in NY run about $10.00

Is this a normal reaction to an eyebrow wax?

The whole day that I get it done the area that was waxed is bright red. It is so bad that after I get it done I put my head down and rush to my car and go straight home and hope no one comes over. The next morning when I wake up I have a lot of little white blisters. It takes nearly a week to go back to 100% normal. I have been to two different places and it has happened at both places. Is this a normal reaction to an eyebrow wax?
That happened to me before. It gets better the more that you get it done. Get some hydro-cortisone cream and right after you have it done, wash the area with cetaphil or some other gentle cleanser, then put the hydro-cortisone cream on. Try to avoid touching the area with your hands because they are filthy and they just ripped a layer of skin off your face so that area is new and can get easily irritated. Is this a normal reaction to an eyebrow wax?
Your face produces a lot of oils when it is ';damaged'; like that. Hence the little zits. The redness is normal if it only lasts a day. The zits are not the usual, but it's not abnormal. It's just the way your body reacts to the trauma. I used to get those so I switched to an eybrow shaver. They are very easy to use, quick, and don't leave you with the stubble that I thought they would. lol You do still have to make sure that you keep your skin moisturized.
sounds to me like they have put really hot wax on you and burnt you??? was it hot?? if not maybe your allergic to the wax. I do it myself, it's heaps cheaper and i know how hot i can stand it. When i don't wax for ages though , I go bright red and sometimes bleed, cause ive got sensitive skin i suppose...but mine looks like ive got pink eye shadow on for days...lol buy some wax and try iy yourself .. do a little at a time until you get used to it and get the shape u want, cheers!@
It is only supposed to be red for a day, are they putting a lotion on after they wax you? And also, do they put poweder on your waxing area before they wax you?
no when me and the women in my family get it done its only red a lil while afterwards but we have switched to threading because we think the waxing made our brows to thin
ya that happens with me too. It stays red and itchy for the whole day and when i wake up next morning my eye is full of white stuff lol it only takes 2 days to disappear for me though
I have the same reaction if I have a hot shower before I get waxed...So I shower the night before and get waxed in the morning.

Hi well I don't get my eyebrows waxed yet but my friends do. They say that you should put hot water on your eyebrows before you get them waxed, to open your spores to make it hurt less. Then put cold water after waxing them to close the spores. Hope I helped.
doing it yourself or having it done??? i would strongly suggest that the first time you pay the money and have someone else do it, to get a good line. after that all you need is a pair of tweezers for the new growth, just follow the line thats already there... as for before, take a tylenol. AFTER CARE%26gt; the person at salon may put some type of cream on them, but for me i usually wipe the goo off. get some pure aloe vera gel, and keep it in the fridge.... it will soothe the redness and the cold will feel good.
dont go crazy whatever you have already probably looks right for you anyway,
when i had mine done for the first time i was preparing for the worst, believe me.

but it wasn't bad at all. afterwards it stung a little bitt. but other then that it was okayy.

if you really dont want to feel anything, take a tylenol/advil.. whatever takes the pain away for youu. good luck :]
I get my eyebrows waxed monthly.

Make sure that your skin isn't dry, otherwise it will pull off the dead skin when waxed.

So maybe have a bath before and cleanse your face with moisturizer.

    Good luck. :)
smoke as much crack as possible
1.) If it's more then 30 bucks, don't pay for it!!! Many people get ripped off by people saying they are professionals, but just because they know what they're doing doesn't mean they could make you pay so much while instead you could be getting a, i dunno, cute shirt?

2.) For the first time, don't get the tops of your eyebrows waxed off, (the part growing downward). For the first time you should see what it looks like with the bottom part of your eyebrow neat and tidy, and if your still not happy let them pluck the top. (Warning: It makes a huge diffrence and looks funny growing back if you get the top waxed and you don't like it, I know from experience.)

3.) While getting them waxed, pay attention to how soothing the warm wax is on your skin, so the searing pain of the wax being pulled off doesn't hurt nearly as much.

4.) If you wear contacts and you are prone to crying from things hurting, take them out. It will irritate your eyes to lay on your back and cry with contacts in. Again, I know from experience.

5.) For the first few times you get them waxed, don't plan anything after. Don't get them waxed in the morning, it's better at night. Unless you don't mind going out in public with a lobster red strip across your face.

6.) Enjoy them! Just think to yourself over and over, ';beauty's painful! beauty's painful!'; =D

    good luck hun!
what girl would would wax there elbows!

When Blocking Brows with eyebrow wax and sealer, what do you do to remove it later?

To remove the wax and sealer? Try Vaseline and/or any kind of astringent with hotish water.

Pain from eyebrow waxing - scale of 1 to 10?

How would you rate your first waxing on a scale of 1-10? I know it supposed to get better as you have it done more often.

    I'm considering it, but I'm a terrible wimp.Pain from eyebrow waxing - scale of 1 to 10?
my scale would be 2 it's not all that painful i was scared my first time but after having it done it was well worth it and make sure you go some where thats high class not a low grade salon because they will usually mess up your eyebrows this happened to me I now go to a salon day spa they do a wonderful job plus if you're not 100% satisfied speak up and tell them I took cosmetology and you should also know your rights if you're not happy usually they will 1 not make you pay or 2 they will give you a discount but if your eye brows don't look right speak up.Pain from eyebrow waxing - scale of 1 to 10?
It depends on your pain tolerance. Personally I have a high pain tolerance and would only rate it about a 1... however my friend says it's about a 5 for her.

It's over really fast though, so you only need to be able to handle the pain for a second or two.

When I got them waxed the first time it went numb right after so I didn't feel much of anything. And you definitely get used to it after a few times.
okayy, im going to put it a few ways.

when i first got my eyebrows waxed, i was SCARED.

so for me, it was like a 7.

But to be honest, its more like a 4 1/2.

as time goes on, it goes down to a 3 1/2, 2 or sometimes eve as low as a 2.

its nothing to be scared of, but just incase bring yur bestiee (=

shannon came with me and i squeezed her hand while the lady waxed them!
When I first had mine waxed it was like a 6. After it just burned and it looked awkward I had red blotchy skin around my eyebrows. (I have sensitive skin and if you do too it's going to look weird) I had them waxed a few times until I tried threading...and to be honest it's way better!!

You should try threading and once you get a good shape and you like it you can do it yourself just watch...

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iVmbHB2p4鈥?/a>

    Hope this helps :)
one to two or, three, at the very most. No where near as painful as, hair pulled out on your head, unless you have an over sensitive head, and you feel more pain in your frontal area of your head. just a little picky feeling , maybe not even two or three max.
its not that bad... id say 5 at the MOST probably less and it goes by pretty quickly anyway- plus the end result is usually worth it! lol

    good luck!

    please answer mine!

    http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;鈥?/a>
    its about a 5

it doesnt get any easier though maybe cos theres abit less hair

but its so worth 5 secs of pain cos it looks so much better

just tell the lady to make sure she presses down once she rips the strip off it helps so much

I hate waxing, because it usually never gives me the shape I want. Instead I go to walmart and get a small shaver, then I shape them that way, it's much easier.
4, if that. it's not really that painful. the first time it will be a 7, but then all the rest of the times it will be a 4.
    2. It's done before the pain registers. Then it just burns a bit.

edit: I'd rate plucking a 4. i'd rather wax. faster, and great results.
3.5. I kinda like the pain of eyebrow waxing. I know that sounds weird. But its def not something to be afraid of.

Oh and im a wimp to!
I'd say maybe 2, that's just my opinion though. I would recommend against it though! The finer hairs are usually pulled and the area irritated, get them professionally tweezed. there is much more control this way.
I would say 7, it hurt pretty bad the first time, but just think, after the first time, the next times won't hurt almost at all.
depends on how sensitive your skin is!

mine was about 3 or 4

its a pain you can get used to. which slowly becomes a 1
I would say its about a 3. Even if you are a wimp it's totally worth it. This might sound crazy but my eyebrows feel so clean after I wax versus when I pluck. It is totally worth it!
It's really not that painful and it's over very fast. It's sort of like ripping off a heavy duty bandaid.
3 at the most. It stings a bit at first but then you just get used to it.
Pluck them! over time they grow less and less unlike waxing them.... and u get used to plucking them, no pain over time.. i do it my self..

    that's me..
    1
sounds painfull.......but y the hell would i do tht
3-over very quickly %26amp; hurts less with time.

    do it,it looks great

  • Does eyebrow Threading still hurt even though you already got your eyebrows waxed before ?

I already got my eyebrows waxed before, but im thinking of getting my eyebrows threaded. Will it hurt even though I already got my eyebrows waxed before.Does eyebrow Threading still hurt even though you already got your eyebrows waxed before ?
i've done both threading and waxing before

but i'm sticking with waxing because i find that threading, for me, hurts a lot

i also have really sensitive skin, so i don't know if that makes a difference

i know a lot of people that prefer threading, because it hurts less for them

    it's different for everyone.

but try it, it's not too painful, and then decide which you like better

hope i was able to help! :)

Is eyebrow waxing (like at a salon) sanitary?

I went with my friend to an expensive salon to have her eyebrows waxed, and although the person doing the waxing seems to use a fresh tool to apply the wax to the eyebrows (I don't know what the tool is called- it's a skinny wooden stick), it seems to me that they use wax from the same large container that they use on everyone. I know the container is heated, but it's obviously not hot enough to kill any germs that might be in the wax from other people, and seeing as how some people bleed a tiny bit during waxing, and how the tool might get dipped again after that, waxing seems highly unsanitary to me. Am I right to think that this might spread germs/ disease, especially since blood could be involved? Is this salon out of the ordinary, i.e., do most salons use a fresh container of wax for each customer? I know it would be more costly that way but it seems like it would be in the best interest of the customer. Sorry for the long question, but any help would be appreciated! :)Is eyebrow waxing (like at a salon) sanitary?
im pretty sure, its sanitary, or why would so many people do it?Is eyebrow waxing (like at a salon) sanitary?

so what you need to know is that the esthetician is using a new pot of wax for every client OR never double dipping her tool/waxing stick. youd be surprised how few follow that rule.

many esthetician will CLAIM that the wax is hot enough to be sanitary even if they double dip. it is NOT true. many estheticians believe this and have nothing to base it on. it is simply false. beauty school is not medical school... it's amazing what estheticians get away with saying!

I have been an esthetician for 9 years and you have nothing to worry about unless you are going to someone who is not trained and/or licensed. Any good esthetician would clean the area that needed to be waxed first and then use all sanitary precautions when dipping into the wax. Also, you should never wax over an area twice, it can lift the skin. So the whole blood pathogen contamination part speaks volumes about the lack of knowledge on the part of the waxer that re-waxes.
Well, I have my eyebrows waxed on a regular basis and I am perfectly safe. At the salon I go to they use a different wooden stick every time so it's never the same stick that was already touching my face-or someone else's. It has to be sanitary or sooo many people would sue.

What hurts less for eyebrow waxing...?

cold or hot wax and which lasts longer? What hurts less for eyebrow waxing...?
i've never heard of cold wax for your eyebrows. i've never thought hot wax hurts all that much. i actually do my own and it really doesn't hurt! What hurts less for eyebrow waxing...?
All hair removal lasts the same amount of time if it's done properly because it's just removing the hair by the root. Cold wax is less irritating to skin, but hot wax tends to grip better, so hot wax is usually preferred by professionals. To lessen the pain, get waxing done immediately following a shower or steam treatment to your face as it loosens pores and and makes the hair come out more easily. An aspirin or any pain reliever two hours before is also good to reduce inflammation.
All I can say is just lay back and relax, the more you have it done the more tolerant you will be. It help when a cotton ball with cool oil or lotion is rubbed across after the brow has been waxed. i have only been to 1 place that didnt do that. Never heard of cold wax, but it sounds unsoothing. The pain is worth the clean look. Plucking just prolongs the pain.
Never heard of Cold wax for eyebrow waxing.

Hot wax is fine and doesn't really hurt.

However, I found a cheaper solution. Cut a small piece of clear packing tape and put it where you want to remove the hair and pull it off.
Both do the same thing by ripping out hair at the roots. Both also have the same pain since it's doing the same thing. I prefer a cold wax though just because it's cleaner and easier to work with.
they last longer on hot water not get hurt.. you will be fine..

What's the best brand used by professional for eyebrow wax?

I recently purchase Hally Hansen and I have to say I'm quite disappointed with the result. A lot of hair was left behind and I have to put and pull the wax 3X and still have plenty of hair left. I followed the instruction carefully. Either my skill is bad or the product is bad. Any suggestion would help. ThanksWhat's the best brand used by professional for eyebrow wax?
use nads..... but at the same time you will not get results like the salon in my expiriance unless you get a friend to do itWhat's the best brand used by professional for eyebrow wax?
No, it has nothing to do with your skill. A good product will at least take all the hair off even if it takes a couple pulls.

I am also trying to figure out what wax works well and here is what I have found so far:

    1) I had the same problem with Hansen. It doesn't remove all of the hair.

    2) Nads doesn't remove all of the hair either.

    3) I tried MOOM, which was supposed to be all the rage because it is gentle, natural, and has good reviews, but it also doesn't remove all of the hair (very disappointed).

    4) I also tried the one touch personal waxer roll on, which was hard to use, clean, and again was pretty lousy at complete hair removal.

I am going to try Gigi next. If you go on amazon.com and search ';gigi'; people's reviews are attached to the gigi wax products with the yellow stars. Seems to be the most promising on the market for ease of use, hair removal, and less adverse skin reactions. Hope this helps.

EYEBROW Waxing: will mine grow back?

I HATE EYEBROW WAXING, NEVER DOING IT AGAIN!

She made my brows straight, i have an oval shape face, i have VERY thick brow hair, how long will they take to grow back.

I was about to stab her so badly with a knife,

WILL THEY GROW BACK TO THERE ORIGINAL SHAPE?

HOW LONG, WHAT SPEEDS THE GROWTH UP!EYEBROW Waxing: will mine grow back?
it take about a month and a half to grow back. yes it will go back in its shape. trust me do not use any hair growth products they make u look like ape man, then they will fall. it does that because all growth products r tested on animalsEYEBROW Waxing: will mine grow back?
um well it will grow back but it looks really bad when they start to grow back eventually they will be normal but u will think when theyre growing back that it looks really bad.
It depends on the hair but they well grow back. I do it i often and now it hardly hurts. But if you ever think of doing it again go to a better place that well actually give your brow a shape. But i think it should be pretty well reground in a month.
    itll take a while

    like a month

    or 3 weeks
it's possible but very rare that people's eyebrows don't grow back, so they most likely will. I don't know what will help though or how long it will take so just use a pencil to color in what you want for now, unless that looks funny to you then you will have to live with it
Well do not worry because if this is your first time getting your eye brows done chances are they will grow back to their natural shape. Since you have coarse hair it sounds like you will not need any help getting them to grow back faster. Your eyebrows should be back to normal in about a week or two. This depends on how much you had waxed off, etc.
Yes they will grow back in about three to four weeks. You will start to notice them coming back in about 2wks. It happens to every one some person just ruins them, but don't give up just go to a different stylist if you want to do it again.
It wont be long it doesnt take very long maybe a week or a couple of days
uh oh....... doing it yourself... NOT with wax, is better,... even then, if it doesnt show that it's growing back in 3 days, I'd say it's not comming back... Eyebrow hair is not so much like the hair on your head.. in some places it grows back ,and in some it won't... unfortunatly

I say 3 days by experience. mine grow everyday, but in some places it doesnt come back

Can someone please tell me how to get eyebrow wax off my bathroom floor?

Personally I would grab the cat and use it like a cloth.... then it would have bald patch that could grow back????

On a scale of 1-10, how much does eyebrow waxing hurt?

n/aOn a scale of 1-10, how much does eyebrow waxing hurt?
6On a scale of 1-10, how much does eyebrow waxing hurt?
    not at all!!
    3. Plucking is like a 7! (You have the whole pain of waxing over and over again!)
For me, 1 meaning no pain and 10 meaning childbirth or severing a limb with no anestesia...3 or 4. My tattoo hurt worse than waxing...I love getting piercings and they hurt worse than the eyebrows. Try it, it's not bad at all and the ouch doesn't last long. The korean women who do mine are ruthless, and always worth it. Your eyebrows will be red for a few hours, but that goes away. Do it when you have nothing better to do, but not before something important as the redness takes a little bit to go away.
maybe a 5, but you get used to it and it's soooooo worth it...
My friend, Margaret always has it done, she says it doesn't hurt much at all.
    2-3.. but brief! Thank goodness!
I have been getting it done since I was 8. 1 be the worst. 10 is the best. 8. It hurts but you get used to it. When your done they put aloe stuff on it. When it hurts ask them to stop a sec, then use your fingers to push where it hurts out. I finally walk in and sit for 5 min and don't even worry. Ofcourse I am not in 20s or teens. Too many years!!!! Good luck! You will look great after!!!
eh, about a 4 unless theres a stubborn one then about a 7
first time 8 then after getting used to it i'd say abt 5.
    3. Mostly the first time, after that none. Threading is better though if you're thinking about shaping your eyebrows. Hurts more, but gives them a much more clean shape.
First time's a *****. After that... a steady three or four.
    3
    its hurts about a 5.
For me, a STRONG 8. I'll never do it again. My eyes were red and swollen for several hours afterewards. It hurts, is uncomfortable and totally NOT worth it!!!! (to me)
2...for just a few seconds. The one that know how to do it proper are able to distract you, then they put pressure on the spot for a second and that helps too.

    I'm used to it though.
    About a 2 - and it's only for a second...and SOOOOOOO worth it.
These numbers are coming from a big baby when it comes to pain. If you can tolerate pain well, you might knock a number or two off.

The first time is about a 6.5 or 7 but then you get used to it and I would call it about a 3.5 or 4.

And always make sure you don't do it the day of a special event. The redness it causes takes a few hours to go away. I usually will have mine done a day or two beforehand.
    3 it better than plucking!!!
Overall I would say about a 5.....that includes the scraping with the tweezers as they search for those left behind. And getting ';used to it'; is bull....I have been getting mine done for 13 years and it STILL hurts, but it beats the heck out of tweezing or having bushy brows!
waxing 2, plucking 7 (I hate when they do it!)
it hurts about a 4 but the pain doesn't last long, only a few seconds actually
4, but not for long. you'll be fine.
    2
my wife gets is done every month.......first time ouch! after that you get used to it, and it really doens't hurt.
up to 1 , is not painful at all, in fact I think it hurts a lot less than plucking
Don't screw with your eyebrows. Guys could care less about eyebrows.
    2
';7'; Iv'e been doing it for a year every two weeks
3 the first time...... after that u get use to it quick and dont feel a thing anymore
first time 6-7 but it gets easier.

How can I get a good eyebrow wax?

make sure you go to an accual esthetician.

many people can trhough themselves in a shop and say there ';eyebrow';waxers...but really they most likely only ever done there own..and they dont know the concept of faceshape eye shape/size and what not that goes into waxing eyebrows.

the heat from wax opens the pores on your skin in the area you are waxing and if you are using a lotion or after wax solution immediately after waxing this can get into the pores and irritate the skin. You can try not using or asking your waxer to not use an after wax lotion and wait a few hours before applying anything to your skin.Bumps on head by eyebrow waxing?

How does eyebrow threading work? Is it as effective or better than waxing/plucking?

I get my brows threaded every two weeks. The cost is $8 (though I round it up to $10 after I leave a $2 tip). It's very precise and it does not hurt nearly as much as I thought it was going to (and I don't handle pain very well). Watch as they thread others... it looks really strange--they hold a piece of thread with their mouth and quickly pull out the hairs using the string wrapped around their fingers. It only takes a few minuets. After they finish they'll give you a cotton ball with antiseptic (rub this over your brows to prevent any infections). You'll be a little red for a few minuets but it goes away quickly. Try it out... it's well worth a couple of bucks. How does eyebrow threading work? Is it as effective or better than waxing/plucking?
I don't do it myself, but i remember seeing my mother doing it when i was younger. She got numb to the pain, but i remember asking her to do it on me so i could see...it hurt like..well, you know. It is more effective, but it is a lot like plucking. It hurts just as much, maybe more. How does eyebrow threading work? Is it as effective or better than waxing/plucking?
They basically twist a thread around the hair and pull it out. It is much better than waxing and plucking. The effects are longer lasting and it does much less damage to your skin.
I've heard it is, but I've never had it done myself.

basically what they do it get a piece of thread around one strand of your eyebrow and pull it out.

I've also heard it is a lot more precise, but it's kind of painful.

Wow $8? Maybe I should get it done... I thought it would be like $15.
threading is alot better then waxing and plucking you can get a better arch it hurts alot more but alot better look. i get mine done they charge me $8

I get mine waxed every two weeks and I pluck in between. I don't spend tons of time getting every hair, I just pluck the really obvious ones in between waxes.

the redness under my right eyebrow would not go away.

it burns really bad, and hurts to even lift up my eyebrows.

i think she may have pulled off some skin?!

    does this happen?

    how can i fix it?

when will it go away?Eyebrow waxing pulling off skin?
I get my eyebrows plucked by my older sister and the couple first times that she would do it, my skin eyebrows would be in the same shape as you described it... But i know now that the best way to prevent that from happening is putting lotion on before... You cant really do much about the pain, or about the redness except for a dash of concealer. It will most likely go away in a day or two.. Im guessing the reason why it gets that way is because it dry and the tissue up there by the brows is thinner, making it much more sensitive, and just like you shave your legs without it being wet some how, it makes your leg skin very itchy and nasty...

ps. i think that may be that she took some skin along with the hair, but its no biggy, youll gey use to it.Eyebrow waxing pulling off skin?
Yes that happened to me the first time I got my eyebrows done, and I got a vitamin E pill and popped it open and put a little bit of the gel stuff on the red spot every day and it made it better.
    if you use any facial creams that may cause the ';pulling off skin';

    hope this helps ;)

    Eyebrow waxing or ear piercing?

which hurts more, an eyebrow waxing or an ear lobe piercing?Eyebrow waxing or ear piercing?
    waxing definetly.

a ear piercing is so much faster and quick. besides there is little skin to penetrate and its soft. most people say they dont even feel it.

with waxing you have the hot wax applied to your eyebrows which may burn or feel uncomfortable. then the strips pull on it and sometimes it passes over the same area twice and it may hurt.Eyebrow waxing or ear piercing?
    waxing
piercring hurts like the first 20 minutes....

while waxing hurts the frist 30 minutes =[
i have never had my ears peirced but i am going to get them done and i heard its like a fast shot or bee sting. i can tell you now though that getting your eyebrows waxed doesn't hurt at all...it is so pain free and you have nothing to ever worry about if you get it done or somehting. hope i helped.
Piercing in my opinion because it's sore and has healing time. With an eyebrow wax it's over in a second...but I'll take them both, I love to get waxed, I love to get pierced.
    Waxing
neither of them hurt very much, but i have a high tolerance for pain anyway.

i guess id say the eyebrow waxing.

because you cant really feel the piercing when they do it, its just afterward it feels kinda bruised when you touch it.

eyebrow waxing hurts for a while but it goes away.
ear piercing is done faster so probly that.

    neither very bad at all.
i wud have to say eyebrow waxing you could barely feel a peircing on your lobe
    waxing!

but its not that bad, u get used to it
    eye brow waxing!
Waxing is fresh pain, over and over again, but an ear lobe piercing can ache for days/weeks.
    waxing............so i hear ;-)
    i think waxing
Definitley WAXING.I have waxed my eyebrows.

    OUCH!!!
waxing hurts more. ear lobe piercing only takes lik... a second and it hurts fer a while afterwards... but waxing hurts for a loooong time and it burns or tingles and stuff.

However, later on, your ears could get infected, just remember to use the rubbing alchol after u get them pierced.

owww but they're both worth it.
    waxing!
    waxing, probably.
    Waxing for sure!

    Eyebrow waxing at Supercuts?

Should I get my eyebrows waxed at Supercuts?Eyebrow waxing at Supercuts?
People are stupid.I don't think you mean waxing the WHOLE eyebrow off..just shaping it.

and to answer your question..no.Eyebrow waxing at Supercuts?
i dont like girls with waxed eyebrows to a certain extent to where theres only a sliver left it reminds me of a teacher
What the **** would you remove your eyebrows for? Do you have ANY idea how much men get turned OFF by that? It's disgusting....
I would definitely go to a beauty salon to have this done.
Does that question really have to be asked? NO you should NOT
dont. you get what you pay for
nope. It's not that much more to do it at an actual salon

How long does an eyebrow wax last?

I got my eyebrows waxed today..

How long until it starts growing again? How long does an eyebrow wax last?
My stylist says to come back every two weeks and that is what i do they look better that way if you wait longer than that then they might not look the same. How long does an eyebrow wax last?
Typically a week to 10 days, depending on how fast your hair grows. And.. how well the waxer performed. ;-)
It depends on how quickly your hair grows but it'll probably last a couple weeks before you notice it growing back. You can probably do some maintenance with tweezers or just go back and get them waxed again.
It depends how hairy you are...some people have their brows done everytime they have their haircut, others do it more often. If you keep them plucked and don't let them get too out of hand, you could keep your current look going for a long time.
I get mine waxed every 2-3 weeks to make sure it's in shape; you can stretch it out by tweezing in between waxes and maybe you can stretch it to 3-4.
bout 2-3 weeks. you should try to look for an indian place that does threading. they use thread to get rid of hair and have you seen their eyebrows? they're usually almost always perfect! the redness doesn't last as much and after using wax for a while you skin can loose elasticity. i don't think you'd want that especially around the eye area...mkay!
Normally an eyebrow wax will last about 2 weeks. They last longer in the winter because your hair grows faster in the summer.
My eyebrow waxes last about 2-3 weeks. Do you like the look of your eyebrows now?
Usually about 2 weeks some people can go about 3 and 4 if you're lucky.
A week and a half to two weeks, but you could go as long as a month and not look too shabby.
a bit less then a month.... i prefer plucking
    ew are you okay?

but i think its lasts a ..................month

  • Is a cheap salon eyebrow wax as good as one at an expensive spa?

I have been growing out my eyebrows a bit because they were too small. Now it is time to start over and get a new shape. Should I go to a cheap salon ($10) or a spa ($20+). Will it make a difference? Is a cheap salon eyebrow wax as good as one at an expensive spa?
I think the wax can make a big difference. Some wax contains conditioners for the skin and peels off with more ease than others. It's true though that the technician makes a big difference. Make sure they are a trained esthetician.

If I were you though I would look into electrolysis for your eyebrows. The shape of brows does not change with the fashion trends. Is a cheap salon eyebrow wax as good as one at an expensive spa?
If you have to go out to have your eyebrows waxed use the cheap salon but you can save a ton of money by buing your own wax pot at Sally's or another beauty supply store and you can use Starbucks stirrers instead of the expensive sticks and cut stips from an old undershirt.
it rally depends on who u go to. u can go to a place where u get ur nails done and they other waxing a t a good price but they wack ur eye brows off or they end up crooked. TRUST ME I KNOW!

When you go, ask if u can see how they do it or see the before and after of someone there getting it done.

when u find someone u like DON'T LET ANY ONE ELSE DO THEM! my girl was busy so i let someone else wax mine and it was a mistake! i should have waited
as long as the person knows what they are doing, it's really all done the same
